Through various contacts in the software industry, I have discovered this
information.
MILLENIUM software are very pissed off about Amiga piracy and especially
the release of Diggers for the CD32 and AGA machines. They have decided to
bust all boards that have had any MILLENIUM software on them, especially
Diggers.
They are not going through FAST or ELSPA, they are willing to bring their
own civil action cases against sysops and even users of pirate bbs's.
I said that I didn't think they would have much luck because scene bbs's
are very picky about their users and access is by reference only. My
contact said that they were already on a lot of UK bbs's and that they had
paid some traders for access to the bbs's and that some of their people
used to be involved in the scene.
My conclusion is that MILLENIUM software are preparing for a big bust and
so I would recommend that ALL sysops, especially UK sysops carefully check
their users and make sure they have solid references. Also that Diggers
should be removed from their directory listings. Apparently MILLENIUM
software couldn't give a shit about other software, but if boards are
busted, it would be much better if there was no mention of Diggers or any
other MILLENIUM software such as Morph.
Be warned and keep the scene safe!
