@node INTRO "INTRODUCTION"
Well, for a long time I used @{"NosNUKE" link NosNUKE} from Nosferatu, a great /X Nuker,
but from version 3.0 NosNUKE does not work 100% anymore!! I hate this!
So that means I have to wait for an update of NosNUKE, but until now
there is no update. So I decided to write my own personal Nuker.
BYTEKiLLER V1.0 WAS BORN!
The first internal versions could only nuke files, but why not enabling
it to make files FreeDL, generate FakeFiles, MOVE files from one confe-
rence to another, give private comments to cool/lame uploaders, give
info about the user-activity in the ACP and Callerslog and to do a lot
more! Well, this is the version to solve all your problems!
Let's start of with the @{"REQUIREMENTS" LINK REQUIREMENTS}.

What do you need: · Ofcoz an Amiga :)
· KickStart V37+
· Working version of /X v3.xx
· And some files to nuke :)
Let's continue to the @{"installation" link Installation} and see what needs to be done...

This Archive should contain the following files:
1. BBS:COMMANDS/BBSCMD/NUKE.INFO
2. DOORS:BYTEKILLER/BYTEKILLER
3. DOORS:BYTEKILLER/BYTEKILLER.INFO
4. BYTEKILLER.GUIDE [THIS! ;)]
1. NUKE.INFO
~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can rename this icon to whatever you want, it is only used to call
the Nuker from /X. Make sure to set the stack higher than 4096 bytes,
20000 bytes is the default value.
2.BYTEKILLER
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the actual executable program (XIM) and has a size of 39800 bytes.
Please copy it to the Doors:ByteKiller/ directory.
3.BYTEKILLER.INFO
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the icon for ByteKiller v1.0, DO NOT FORGET TO COPY IT to the
Doors:ByteKiller/ directory, or else the program fails!!!
For a detailed description of the valid tooltypes, check out the
@{"TOOLTYPES" link ToolTypes} chapter.
4.BYTEKILLER.GUIDE
The AmigaGuide Database you are still reading, copy anywhere... :)
This version does not support Ami-X v2.xx, but if a lot of people are
asking for a v2.xx version I will release it one day. If YOU want a
v2.xx version, contact me at @{"Diabolo BBS" LINK DIABOLO}.
@{" C " LINK GIVETAKE} »»»»> To give or take crediz to/from an user
@{" D " LINK DELETE} »»»»> The selected file will be deleted and a FakeFile will
be created. ByteKiller will show the uploader.
@{" M " LINK MOVE} »»»»> Move Files from one conference to another...the moved file
will be sorted by date in the new conference.
@{" N " LINK NEXTFILE} »»»»> If ByteKiller finds more entries with the pattern matching,
you are able to switch to the next file until you find the
file you want.
@{" Q " LINK QUIT} »»»»> To quit ByteKiller...(but why should you? :) )
·N·O·T·E·
· If you enter a filename that doesn't exist, ByteKiller will ask you if
you want to generate a FakeFile under that name.
· If you start ByteKiller without a filename, you will see a list of all
users that have been Nuked one or several times. This is an option you
can turn on or off (see @{"TOOLTYPES" link ToolTypes}).
@{" INDEX " LINK INDEX}
@endnode
@node FREEDL "MARK A FILE AS FREEDOWNLOAD"
FREEDOWNLOAD (F)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you choose the F option, the selected file will be marked as a
FreeDownload. ByteKiller will change the bytes-info about the file
to FREE and will add the following comment to the description:
<<< FREE DOWNLOAD >>> <<< FREE DOWNLOAD >>>
Nice eh? :)
@{" OPTIONS " LINK OPTIONS}
@endnode
@node GIVETAKE "GIVE/TAKE BYTES TO/FROM AN USER"
GIVE/TAKE BYTES (C)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the Nuker part :)! With this option you can take or give bytes
to/from an user. All downloaders can get their downloaded bytes back
ofcoz.
First ByteKiller will search for the uploader and if it finds him, it
will ask you wether you want to TAKE or GIVE bytes. The specified file
will NOT be deleted!
NOTE: Failed transfers are recognized and if such a file is to be found,
ByteKiller will ask you to continue nuking or continue searching
for the uploader.
If you have specified the @{"TOOLTYPE" LINK NUKERTOOLS} "EXTERN_COMMENT=YES" ByteKiller will
ask you to enter a private message (max. 5 lines) to the uploader. This
message will be appended to the ByteKiller message.
After this you can have ByteKiller returning credits to downloaders.
ByteKiller will now show you the comments which can replace the size-info
of the nuked file. You can specify up to 97 (!) comments, but if you still
think you need a comment which is not present, you can enter it live :).
See @{"TOOLTYPES" LINK TOOLTYPES} for more info about comments!
When this is done, you are asked to enter a comment for the file-
description itself. You can choose between a short or a long comment
line. Short comments are defined as default and are length-limited to
the file-description length.
Long comments take up a full line and are appended UNDER the description
of the file.
At this point, ByteKiller will show you the next file if you used pattern-
matching (*) and will ask you what to do with it (back to step 1).
If you didn't use pattern-matching, you are prompted for a new filename
or to show you the list of all nuked users in this conference.
@{" OPTIONS " LINK OPTIONS}
@endnode
@node DELETE "BYTEKILLER GUIDE - DELETE A FILE"
DELETE (D)
~~~~~~~~~~
This function does the same as the @{" C " link GiveTake} function (Give/Take crediz), but
this time the fill WILL BE DELETED and a fake file will be created. So
take care of this function, 'caus deleted files are deleted!
@{" OPTIONS " LINK OPTIONS}
@endnode
@node MOVE "BYTEKILLER GUIDE - MOVING A FILE"
MOVE (M)
~~~~~~~~
When activated, ByteKiller will first show all conferences that
particular user (the one who uses the nuker) has access to. The current
conference number will be shown in green, the destination directories
will be displayed in plain white.
You can simply select the destination conference by typing in the number
of the conference.
The next steps are the same as with the @{" C " link GiveTake} function. But you cannot
enter a new description.
Read @{" MOVER " LINK MOVER} for more info about this part of ByteKiller.
@{" OPTIONS " LINK OPTIONS}
@endnode
@node NEXTFILE "BYTEKILLER GUIDE - NEXT FILE BY USING PATTERN MATCHING"
NEXT FILE (N)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you use the pattern matching possibilities and multiple files match
the pattern you entered, the next file will be shown and at your will :).

QUIT (Q)

This little routine is written by Spy/MST and ByteAndi/MST. It allows you
to move files without changing the filelist, moving the files from one
conference to another.
ByteKiller allows you to take upload-bytes from the upload, it is very
fast and a piece of powerful coding. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
