For the 30 years anniversary of the Falcon030 CEREBRAL VORTEX presents Falcon Slideshow Remastered!
We have remastered all the pictures of the famous Slideshow of 1992 in 24 bit and coded a display engine in "Near 24 Bit" (and 18 bit for the impatient :p ).

It was a long search to find a maximum of images of better quality (thanks Xerus!).
Thousands of images have been viewed on CDs from the 1980s (thanks archives.org, yandex.com, google picture).

Unfortunately most of the images found (only a dozen or so) had a better resolution, but were in 8Bit-256 colors... Like most of the images of the 1992 slideshow !!!
At that time, the developer "MOVING PIXELS" had resized 80% of 8bit images (256c GIFs) and saved them in 15 bit... Not exactly Truecolor, eh!
So we recreated some CGI images with 3DSMAX, found the P.O.V Ray CGI scripts and recalculated the images (with P.O.V Ray 1.0) 30 years later!

Finally we retouched in 24 bit all the photographs found (or not) with Photoshop, it was a long work...

SOFTWARE USED:

- P.O.V RAY 1.0
- 3DSMAX
- Photoshop
- Pure C
- Steem Engine SSE
- Hatari
- Deluxepaint ST
- XnView
- Notepad2

NB: This demo has been designed especially for CRT TV/RGB monitors 50Hz, a version for 60Hz CRT and VGA will come later (but only with a 18bit display for VGA).

If you use HATARI, the "Near 24bit" mode (unlike the 16bit and 18bit modes) needs to be synchronized with the video card of your PC, so the refresh rate of the monitor (50Hz mode).

Remember to activate the VSync in Hatari: [Hatari Screen]>[SDL2 Options]>VSync
Select RGB or TV mode: [atari screen]>[Atari Monitor]>[RGB] or [TV].
