.Requirements.

* A very fast video card with lots of Pixel Shader 4.0 compatible shader pipelines.
A AMD RX 480 works nicely. Unfortunately the intro runs slower on nvidia cards
than on AMD cards, so I guestimate you'll need a GTX 1080 or faster to get 30 FPS.
The compo machine at Revison once again has a Titan videocard, so ...
* 300 MB ram (for the Crinkler decompression)
* Tested on Windows 7 and 10.

.About the intro.

This 8K intro originally started as a 4K for Assembly 2018 about a dragonfly catching a
butterfly, but it was in such an unfinished state I didn't want to release it there. After
chatting with Algorias/Horology, who saw potential in the idea, we decided to co-operate
on an entry for Revision, one of the few parties having an 8K compo. The extra space would
hopefully help to achieve the fairly realistic look we'were aiming for. Around januari we
finally started to work on it, taking several months of gradually increasing activity.
Algorias had the idea to start with a swarm of butterflies, of which I was sceptical but
it worked out very well. For the 4K intro, Ranger Rick had made a short waltz in Clinkster
that fit the butterfly part, but due to time constraints he couldn't finish it. Coplan
stepped in, keeping the waltz idea but starting from scratch. The usual bugs, performance
problems on only some cards etc popped up, along with real-life issues that we had to deal
with, but in the end we managed to get a tested version submitted with only a minor
disregard for the deadline (this years reason: mysteriously nonfunctional registration key,
extremely busy compo organisers and test versions that suddenly do work for no apparent
reason). We are reasonably happy with what we managed to fit in 8K, and hope you enjoy it
too!
