The official rules are below:
ASCII/ANSI
We will use the Sahli viewer via Firefox or Chrome.
Short and medium pieces once will be shown from top to bottom, then back up
to the top. Full Amiga ascii collys will be displayed ONCE from top to
bottom. Long vertical ANSI screens will be displayed as "wide strips" at
the end, instead of scrolling back upward.
No animations. (Submit those to the animation compo! Yes, seriously, that
would be awesome.)
You do NOT need to submit any workstages.
PETSCII:
We will support PETSCII this year. \m/
PETSCII will be shown in Sahli, which uses EvilPaul's render engine.
The font used is Style's C64 Pro Mono.
NO animations. Submit those, with music, to the demo compo (:
Max size: If you're doing an unusual size, contact the organizers so we can
be sure it works. If neccesary, we'll need to use Moqui's png petscii
as was done at Deadline.
Block (PC) ascii:
Include a note to the organizers to be clear this is BLOCK ascii. We will
probably know because it will look goofy otherwise, but better to be clear.
Either Cleaner's BlockZone font, or one of Viler's px fonts will be used.
Display can be traditional pc (light on dark) or dark on light. Include a
note to the organizer which you prefer. If no note is included, we will
default to traditional pc (light on dark)
PC ANSI:
Standard font is Cleaner's BlockZone or one of Viler's px fonts.
Font can be 8x8 (similar to "80x60 mode") or 8x16 ("traditional")
Display can be "traditional” 8x16 or "80x60mode" 8x8. Include a note to the
organizers which you prefer, if no note is included, we will default to
"traditional."
Maximum size : 80x1000
Amiga ascii:
All of DMG's fonts are available.
Display can be traditional ced (dark on light) or reversed. Include a note
to the organizer as to which you prefer, if no note is included, we will
default to ced (dark on light)
Maximum size : 200x1000
Amiga ANSI:
If you're ACTUALLY going to enter an Amiga ANSI, contact the organizers.
