The techniques used for this photo were 3d modeling with Autodesk 3ds Max and aftertouch with Adobe Photoshop.
Scene and characters were built by me, and most of the materials are standard Autodesk mental ray materials.
I have used a few sample pictures from Mayang's freeware textures ( http://www.mayang.com/textures/ ).
The fur is a standard effect in 3ds Max, it requires no external add-ons. Some of the textures also include
photographs of my own, which have been retouched in Photoshop. The muzzle flashes and special effects were
painted in Photoshop, using Screen, Overlay and Soft Light blend modes.
