We coded most of this on Jimage's Thinkpad (running
Win95) at cTrix's place after Syntax while pulling
an all-nighter to edit party video.
The Amstrad port was born at Jazzcat's hotel on
Thursday night before Flashback, using TrinaryLogic's
Amstrad PPC640.
We formatted some 720k disks, and downloaded the
image for the original boot disk. At 11:45pm we
realised the only way to get it to the Amstrad was
to burn a CD and copy it to a disk via the Thinkpad.
Miraculously, at the convenience store 100m down, at the
back of a dark and gloomy shelf, was buried a long
forgotten spindle of CDs. We must have reeked of
desperation, as the clerk extorted us $2.50 each for two
discs.
Worth it.
Hilarious error messages and a quick test of Lemmings
and Commander Keen 4 later, we set about several hours
of manufacturing glorious CGA history.
