ÈËÍÍÍÍÄÄ96Ä [1] Info About This Release ÄÄÄÄÄÍÍÍÍÍÊ»
This is my NAiD release, being released by me
unofficially through Carcass due to popular
demand. [PPL giving me headlocks on #trax.]

ÈËÍÍÍÍÄÄ96Ä [2] What's New With Carcass? ÄÄÄÄÄÍÍÍÍÍÊ»
Carcass made a big bang at NAiD!!! Watch for all
our releases... Quite a few of us did quite well
in the song competition, but due to unfortunate
circumstances beyond our control we were unable
to release a demo or intro at NAiD. Look for our
demo/intro outside NAiD, we have it in the works
still.

ÈËÍÍÍÍÄÄ96Ä [7] Carcass Greets... ÄÄÄÄÄÍÍÍÍÍÊ»
DH's NAiD report:
MY MUSIC SHIT:
Sunday Night, May 26th. I'm doing nothing on #trax, Aahz
calls me voice and asks me about my song. I tell him that all I
have is DAN-6.S3M, an old funk song from last year before naid 95,
DAN-17.S3M, the first prototype of my song with 2 pats of bass+drums
+horns, and DAN-17.XM the actual version with 4 pats of Sax+Bass+Drums
+Horns. He says that I should get my ass in gear. I ask Basehead, who
is on #trax at the time "How long would it take you to make a good
compo-winning quality song, including inspiration?" He replies
"8 Hours." That was enough to get me moving, except WWF In Your House
was on so I didn't do jack shit.
WWF in your house that night had lost 1 hour of satelite
footage due to a storm. They said the rest would be on tuesday, at the
encore. So Monday, I went to school... Came home, tracked from 3:30
until 9:00 and stopped to watch Monday Night Raw. That night I had done
some mass sampling of all sorts... I finished a Verse and a Chorus.
Tuesday, I tracked from 3:30 to 7:30. I finished another verse
and a chorus. I stopped to watch the WWF in your house encore until
10:00.
Wednesday I continued tracking off of my school hours, popping
briefly onto #trax and getting daily calls from Dave. I tracked until
I went to bed that night, I did some touching up as well as the
famous Bridge to the solos, as well as the drum, piano and sax solos
themselves. I also worked right through to half the third verse.
Thursday, the same continued... Calls, #trax, and tracking. I
finished my entire song that night! Except it was really sloppy. The
Sax in the third Chorus was poorly tracked, and the samples were used
incorrectly and the samples didn't lead into each other so it sounded
whack.
Friday, everyone was leaving. I got home at 3:30 again, and
I was upset as I couldn't go to my high school dance (because when
you go to a high school dance you're cool and you get to dance with
girls). However, I panned the first half of my song along with fixing
some of the really bad sax+brass parts. Master of Darkness called me,
and wondered why I was still at home. I said I was catching a flight
at 8:00 and I was working on my song. Unfortunately, I had to leave
before I could do a sample txt and some panning/touch ups.
After a nice flight and 2 hours of driving in circles
I reached naid. Aahz and Mayhem were out boozing, so I was lost. I
found out that the music compo deadline was in 15 minutes (it was
11:45, the deadline at midnight). I had two copies of my song, two
disks. I handed in one copy, there was an incomplete sample txt,
panning job and touch ups. I did meet mah beeyatches, and I did meet
some really cool people. I had only one copy left.
At any rate, I'll describe vague detail the rest of my music
related experiences and then go onto the rest of the report: I made
the top 20, and I handed the "second form" to shawnm and asked him
about my sample txt. He said I could hand in an updated version for
the CD and release, but the compo version would be the incomplete.
I quickly went to fred's computer and edited some of the txt, but I
had to move my booty over to jtown's computer because some people
needed the other computer. I handed in my last copy, updated, to
shawnm and asked him to give it back. I never bothered to get it
back, thats why I had to wait until fred or jtown contacted me to
get my actual song. Anyhow, the rest is history. If you don't know
the rest, tell you what. E-Mail me at DHarmony@Canada.Com and I will
personally reply back calling you a retard. =)
PEOPLE SHIT:
When I arrived at NAiD, I was soon to meet my good
#traxfriend fred =) I'm sure we were both really thrilled. Along
with him were a bunch of people, I met Vegas too. However I wouldn't
meet the rest until later. I recognized Mayhem from last NAiD (old
coleague) and the drunken honky was probably Aahz. =) They were both
Kool And da Gang.
I met some of the Night 55 guys, and the rest who were
staying in the Carcass room. This included jtown (kal zakath) and
Mayhem + Aahz of the Carcass crew. I slept. It was great. I had this
dream....
Anyways, I woke up at about 6:00 after going to sleep at
3:00. I was ready really fast, and bored because no one else was up.
Me and Vegas (and fred and aahz) were up though... Fred went out for
some smokes or something, and aahz tried to get some more sleep (I
think). So me and vegas got really bored, and found a room with lots
of people in it. We turned on perisoft's monitor and found one of his
songs. (Perisoft's songs are loud =) Hehe) Vegas inserted 10-20 blank
patterns before the actual start of the song, cranked the volume and
pressed play. =) We left, giggling like school girls.
Aahz bumped into us, and asked us what was up. We told him.
He said it was very evil and we were children of satan and we bear
the mark of the beast and worship the dark one, etc.... He said the
most evil thing is that perisoft will be blamed. However we all went
back to investigate the results. The prank had started, but had been
averted by fred. The only person woken up by the short burst was
perisoft himself :) Oh well.
More cool stuff, socialized. More people to meet, it was
a generally slow but cool day. I'll greet you all in a bit. =) Later
that night, I found Aahz and Mayhem drunk again in the FM-sorta-room.
Basehead was there, and said he thought my song was cool but he said
I ripped his ending. I said no, because his song ended on the tonic
with an organ + hard guitar while mine ended on the supertonic with
brass. (there is a big difference) but I did admit that the
WHoo-da-peesh at the end of the song was a shared part. He played me
his latest from thursday night, indigo or something... I had dcced it
but I couldn't play ITs. But it was cool from what I heard. He also
tried to get his latest disk to show me a funk song he made, but it
was unsuccessful and I splat (past tense of split, to leave, to exit)
Lots of cool stuff which I don't have space to include (or
the patience) but I did play cards with darkwolf and perisoft and a
few others. I left to go see a compo, and came back to see darkwolf
and his gf (I think it was his gf) comforting someone (I think it
was Jazm). The only words I could pick out from darkwolf were "Pass
Out... Its okay, if you pass out for 15 minutes you'll be fine. Just
keep your head on the desk." ANd then a groan, and then a gurgling
noise and a move of the desk... A splat on the floor caused me to
gag. So I splat. =) Appearently there was a minor problem with
keeping alcohol. Anyways, I came back to a clean sleeping bag in that
room (I switched rooms for variety) but some people weren't so lucky
:)
Those were the big highlights, those were the things which
lasted more than a few minutes (besides the compos).
I dined with Mayhem first breakfast, then with a bunch the
next... Most of them were from the "People Who I Chilled With at Naid
I sorta knew" list:
Read on.
