ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
MOVEMENT '96 will be held in Ashkelon's largest High-School building
known as the RONSON High-School. It is located 5 minutes of walk
from the central bus station. The school's former name was TAGER
The party will start at 10:00 am on the 9th of December (Monday) and
will end at 6:00 am at the morning of December 11th (Wednesday). All
of those days are ofcourse HANNUKA holydays. There will be a candles
lighting ceremony at the evenings.
The party place is very easy to find. You can either walk yourself,
or get a taxi (always available at the central bus station) if you
carry any heavy equipment.
ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿

ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
You will either arrive by bus, by boat or by car. If you're lucky
to come by a car then you will arrive to Ashkelon Junction first.
From now on Just keep driving stright ahead. You will pass 3 junc.
with traffic lights. On the forth (near the fountain) turn right.
keep driving until you'll see another junction. The complex on
your right is the Party Place (aka RONSON High-School).
Comming by Bus is ALOT easier: From Tel-Aviv Central Bus Station
take Line 300 (express) or 311 (going through Yavne- 20 min. more).
Those lines leave every 20 min. When you'll reach the Central B.S
in Ashkelon look around for an organizer. We will put there one of
our men from 9:00am until 12:00am. However, if you cannot find him
there, just ask anybody about 'RONSON HighSchool (Former Tager)' -
its a 5 minutes walk from the Bus Station...
Comming by boat - If you're RICH and have a yacht you can port at
Ashkelon's new Marina! The way from there is a bit complicated.
Call us for more details..
If you wanna bring you're computer with you, you best come in car.
Or a TAXI... Another way can be having someone to guard the equip.
and another one going to the party place and look for any scener
with a car that can give you're stuff 'a lift'. :)

The organizers reserve the right to make any changes they wish in
the competition rules, and to disqualify any entry if it is not
suitable to attend the competitions for some reason.
Some notes to keep in mind:
1. Atleast one of the groups competiting has to be present at the
party place and in the case of a solo competition the competitor
has to be present (4k, Music, Graphics, Ansi & Animation).
2. In the music & graphics competitions, we will not show the
author's name while we play the song in the competition.
3. The demos/intros will have to run without ANY user interaction
once started (although there can be a setup screen).
4. All demos, intros, pictures, songs n' ansi will be spread at
and after the party by the organizers.
5. The productions MUST NOT save any files (except configuration
files) on the hard disk or the disk.
6. Floppy disks that contain the product will NOT be returned.
7. We recommand you'll hand over the compo release to us before
the deadline. That way we can make sure you're production runs
as it should on our system.
8. NO ONE is allowed to vote for himself, a production he took
part in or a production done by his group.
9. A jury composed of known scene people (maybe even you!) will
be assmbled for each compo and it's vote will be equal to 20% of
the total votings for that compo (audience = 80%). Sceners that
will compete will not be in the jury of that specific compo.
10. In the graphics, music, raytracing, animation and 4kb intro
competitions we will show the name of the song/picture, but only
if it will not give hints on who has made it.
11. "Maximum running length" below is only the amount of time we
will show a particular piece of art on the big screen.
12. The filenames of the productions have to comply with the ISO-
9660 standard. This means that the only characters allowed in
filenames are "A-Z" and "0-9". The maximum length of the filename
is 8+3 characters as in MS DOS standard. (No win95 long-names
bullshit).
The authors have to have all copyrights to their production.
If you have any questions about the rules, please contact MOV'96
Organizing.

The competition machine we will use:
- 486Dx/4 100 Mhz with 8 MB of RAM
- MS-DOS 6.22
- 1MB SVGA - MACH64 - board
- 1 MB Gravis UltraSound sound card or
original Sound Blaster 16

Software configuration in the computer will include MS-DOS 6.22,
with HIMEM and QEMM. The configuration will not be changed during
the competition.
One must be able to exit from PC-demos and intros at any time by
pressing <ESC>.
In PC 64kb intro competition two versions of the intro can be
submitted. The competing version which is under 65536 bytes long
and supports either GUS or SB and the release version which
supports both. Release version can be over 65536 bytes long.
Competing 64kb intro cannot be in any case longer than 65536
bytes. Both release and competition version has to be submitted
to the organizers before the deadline.
The main reason why SVGA modes with higher resolution than
640 x 480 aren't allowed is because the maximum resolution
supported by the video/data projectors we have is 640 x 480. And
even if the projectors could show higher resolutions, the picture
quality of different high resolution graphics modes would not
look that much different from one another (a video projector is
NOT the same as a monitor).
You should note that the picture produced by a video projector is
not as good as a monitor picture. The video projector does not
show pale colors well and in some cases can even lose them
completely. Also the contrast can be different. These are common
problems with all video projectors and simply can't be corrected.
Please try to understand these restrictions.
Note that you can now enter more than one 4kb / 64kb intro to the
competitions, if you so desire.

We cannot tell you the amount of money we have for prizes,
and actually - the more people will pay the entrance fee, the
'fatter' prizes we'll have.
All damages to the Party Place, other surroundings and other
damages caused by party visitors will be REDUCED from the prizes
before any prizes are paid. Many don't know that, but MOV'95 had
2,000 Nis worth of damages. Thats HALF of the total money prizes.
The actual prizes may be software, hardware or pure cash. This
depends on our sponsors. As we cannot commit at this time to any
of the prizes, an exact list will be published at the party place.
All the cash prizes will be paid in CHECKS written for the winner
or the representitor of a group, and MUST be PAYED OFF at the bank
no longer then 6 months after the event. After 6 months the check
is worthless.

³ === PARTY FEATURES === ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
Next is a list of most important features at our party:
* Audio and Video *
The auditorium hall is equipped with a powerful built-in sound
system. The system supports stereo output and will be a real
kicker. We try to consult every proffesion-man we can to make
sure this year there will be no complains...
The big screen in the main hall is over 2 meters wide and
supports the 640x480 resolution! The whole place is a closed,
air conditioned auditorium with place for more then 300 people
and a movie-like screen.
We will also operate 2 or more 'small' big screens in diffrent
halls to update you on the schedual, current events, and just
plain demos.
* Halls *
We will have a very difficult time to handle the party place
this year. The complex is devided to several platforms and is
VERY confusing. We will post as many signs as possible, yet
you'll have to have self decipline from going beyond restricted
areas.
The sleeping hall is a fairly remote room so the noise will not
disturb your sleep. There are toiltes quite next to it. We'll
do our best to bring mattresses for everybody, yet a sleeping
bag is mandatory. Remember, sleeping isn't mandatory in
parties, yet, you'll probably wanna get some before events like
the demo compo or others.
* Services *
There will be a good Coffetiria at the place, in a special room
with seats and tables. We are not the ones running it, yet we
try to keep their prices low. There will be a 24 hours
technician service standing by for your help, as well as a 24
hours medical aid personnel on the party place. With ANY
problem you may turn to any of the organizers and we'll try our
best to solve it.
Plenty of toilets and some showers will be available. Also, a
proffesional running track and 2 outdoors basketball fields
will be available through the organizers. We're still trying to
organized that promised Ping-Pong compo from Mov'95. ;)
There is a nice parking place next to the complex, where you
can park your car freely.
* Party network information *
There is going to be a Party Network (LAN) going up around the
first afternoon of the party. We're probably gonna run it on
NetWare(tm) or LANtastic(tm), according to the voting system
support.
WHAT DO I NEED TO GET CONNECTED TO THE LAN?
- one network card. Make sure it ha`s BNC coupling in it. RJ-45
or AUI are not supported at all.
- one T-connector
- piece of cable (thinnet, 50 ohm, BNC coupling, 2-3 meters)
There might be some cards/connectors available at the net-info
to be sold but don't count on that. Most propably there is some
cable available to party visitor use, but again, don't count too
much on that either.
If you don't know what a T-connector or a network card is, don't
bother with the whole network ;) If however you have questions
about the network just email to mov96@kinneret.com and ask.
* Party Video *
We're planning on producing a VIDEO CASSETE of the whole event.
Anyone intrested also in having such a video is more then welcome
to contact us.
* Party CD-Write Service *
We will have a special service on the party place for burning CD-
ROMS. You may burn your own HardDrive or other non-commercial
stuff. However, this service will cost, as you have to buy an
empty CD and pay for the burning. The prices will be low, thou.
* Party Color Scanner *
We will have another special service - you may bring us color
pictures to a stand we'll make for SCANNING. This service, too,
will be very cheap.
* Party Products *
Party products will be ALL released at the party network after
every compo. Groups that may want to fix thier products may do
so until the 10th of December (the 2nd day) after notifying the
organizers. ALL the releases will be marked as PARTY VERSION and
will be also posted to MOV'96 outposts. If any of the groups or
competitors wish to release a final version anytime after the
party, they are welcome doing so.
* Party Outposts *
ftp.cdrom.com had open a special directory for MOV96 releases.
CODERS F/X BBS - Mov96 official board - will have all of the
products as soon as the party will be over. You may reach it
at +972-7-675-3224 (07-675-3224 from inside Israel) or
through email at coders.fx@kinneret.com, FREQ from 2:407/205.

The public price of a ticket is 30 Nis (10$ only). This ticket
offers entrance to the party place, and will make you the proud
ownes of a BADGE carrying your Handle and your secret vote-pass.
* Where can I buy my tickets *
