A SHORT PARTY REPORT FROM AMIGA SCENER'S POINT-OF-VIEW!
Ok.. Here's a short overview of what happened and what was cool (and
mainly what was NOT) at the Agressive II party.
Although most of us live in Helsinki, the party place was hard as hell
to find.. After wandering around sometime we found the right place. There
were NO signs of anykind telling that about the party.. The place was on
the second floor of a building and the hall was really SMALL but people
still fitted in pretty well as there weren't so much people as we thought.
As we finally booked ourselves in we went to reserve tabels and space for
our gear. Although it wasn't even 12:00 half of the table space was already
reserved. The organizers said they'll put out some advertisements of the
party AFTER the party has begun.. Funny.. ;)..
The first days went on and were pretty boring.. As usually, most of the
things sucked.. like, if you wanted to go eating something else than what
u got from the grill below the party place you needed to go back to the
centrum or to macdonalds that was a bit closer than other places.. After
04:00 it was almost impossible to get food from anywhere till the next
morning. One good thing, though; light alcohol drinks were allowed. Still,
the Amiga sceners were only ones who boozed there (And it wasn't just light
drinks.. hehe!). The pc&st nerds just sat and keyed their computers while
we roamed around and shouted (That's the REALY party feeling!). Also, one
other thing that sucked was the audioside.. Nothing cool was shown on the
screen untill the second day and then the fucking lamers started to PLAY!
We had to watch hours as those pc lamers played around with some stupid
game called utopos. And untill the next day, they didn't also play any
music from the big speakers and when we started to play our own music some
ugly organizer came to complain that turn the volume down and that was for
many times untill he said he'll throw us out if we won't stop playing.
Parties are nothing without that loud techno!!.. Anyway.. those were just
the minor facts..
When I came back from home, where i was sleeping as it was kinda hard to
sleep at the party place, it was time for the deadline. Good thing was, that
the deadlines didn't keep too well, so you were able to bring your prods
almost when ever you wanted.. At that time they also got the big screen
and speakers working and started to play some techno (GREAT!). Then suddenly
a big hasstle begun as the organizers managed to fuck up something with
the module compo. They weren't able to read some of the Amiga disks.. How
lame again from them..
Finally, it was time for the compos.. and fuck they were delayed like hell!
There were 1-2h delays between almost every compo and ofcoz they had some
probs with the screen again.. the Organizers managed to fuck up some minor
things during the compos, like forgetting some contributions and stuff..
Between the delays the organizers told us to got to the bloody macdonalds
again.. bah.... When quality of the contributions was quite low.. No Amiga
intros (Where were everyone?) and only one demo that was overruled although
showed on screen.. hehe.. the modules weren't too good either.. there were
some amiga musicians taking part to them, although..
When the compos were over and the vote counting begun we had to watch that
fucking pc game on the screen for two more hours.. It was really painfull!
They game was boring as hell... After the results were finally released the
party was kinda over and we headed for home.
That was the party in a nuttshell. i'm not gonna write any more details here
on what we did as you probably aren't too interested in reading it. In spite
of all the lame organizing things, atleast WE had a great time..
