 1. first thoughts

  Hi. I made this.
This is not a typical musicdisk. All of these tunes were finished a while
ago - not nescessarily a long time ago, but none of them were intended to be
part of any compilation. These are all tunes that i completed and then
discarded, chose not to release, got sick and tired of, forgot, etc...
So why would you wanna go through it? I have no idea. You will probably
find many of the tunes to be complete rubbish, utter crap.
So what made me release it all? I am not sure, actually. I thought the idea
was interesting, I guess. Some of these tunes are actually up to my normal
standard (however you may feel of that), I just never bothered to release
them. Others are tunes that had potential but somehow just got messed up
along the way. Others are pure experiments, me wanting to try out a new
genre, a different kind of beat, some new samples, whatever.
Anyhow, I thought it might actually be rather interesting to browse through
such an archive of thrown-away tunes. Maybe there is something that just
did not end up appealing to me, but instead suits you fine. Maybe there is
a tune in here that you feel like you would be able to remake at a higher
standard. Or maybe you will just find it funny how utterly lame I tend to
 get at times... suit yourself.

The thing I expect to get out of releasing this compilation is a bit of
feedback. Suggestions, comments, everything is appreciated. Just don't tear
these tunes too much apart. There is a reason why I did not want to release
 them at first.

I hope you find some enjoyment in all of this...

 3. song thoughts

  "elenia"

If you can cope with the very repetitive nature of this tune, I think it
has some enjoyable parts. I cannot remember excactly why I decided not
to release it at the time, but I think it was due to the fact that it
seems, at some points, to be a little too much like a variation of parts
thrown together at random. If you catch my drift...
Still, this is one of the tunes that I actually listen to from time to
time. As it states in the sample texts massive inspiration came from
The Orb and the wonderful work on fellow-tracker SiN. Get his stuff!

  "gajol venture"

This was actually made to be part of an audio cd project that I became
involved in along with Mickrip and some other trackers I cannot remember.
Anyhow, as it turned out I never heard from the guy behind the project
again. I never got to send him this tune so I do not know why he decided
    to just abandon the project.
The tune is the kind of bass and percussion thing that there is a lot of
in the scene. No huge amount of creativity as far as the style of the
tune goes. I rather enjoy the percussion, though. And I think the tune
has a fair share of grooviness.
And btw, A Gajol is a danish mint. ;)

  "influential"

Supposed to be my first release for audic, a new group consisting of
Grubwerm, RangerRick and myself. For some reason it never happened, so
the tune just lay on my harddrive.
A LOT of the samples were created in the wonderful program Stomper. I had
been without it for a few weeks due to a windows crash, and I went on a
complete sample frenzy when I finally got it back. Such an amazing piece
    of software.
I suddently discovered those vocals by my four year old cousin lying in
a directory somewhere and decided to use them just for the fun of it.

  "intensity creeps"

Strange, angry industrial piece. I had been listening to Pretty Hate
Machine by NIN a lot at the time. Other samples mainly from Stomper.

  "slappin' sheeps"

I have no idea how this came out of me. It has been lying on my drive for
a very long time, unfinished until i added a few patterns for the sake of
this disk. This might be why those last very fast-paced patterns seem
    deadly out of place. ;)

"spotting the devil - a second sight"

Remix of my own original from 1998. This is a much more powerful version
of the original track, I have added lots of distorted sounds and heavy
beats. You will probably only like it if you liked the original piece.

  "tight grib"

First tune I made after having bought my Roland JP-8080. I guess that is
why it relies so much on samples, and so little on actual musical skill.
Very little in it besides a beat, a bass and of course a lot of jp-8080
samples. I think this is my only tune to date that can be described as
drum&bass or jungle or whatever. I am not good at categories.

 4. greets and credits

Thanks to everyone who has ever supplied me with even the slightest amount
of feedback. I am such a sucker for comments on my work.
Special thanks to Coplan for always being a great critic of my work. I would
have probably given up if it wasn't for you.
Also thanks to RangerRick, Grubwerm and SiN for all being such wonderful
sources of inspiration. Thanks to Ranger for some very interesting discus-
sions of music in general and inventive music in specific.
Thanks to Thomas Carey for tons of inspirational conversations.

 Greets to everyone I know.

 5. contact info

work. In any case, comments are highly appreciated. At least let me know
 you downloaded this thing.
