There is a land, in which, although roast chicken might not be flying
directly into your mouth, you might be able to spot quite a bundle of
oddities, quirks and even one blunt goofyness or another.
Right on pressing the play button, Das Timbo has already warped you into
"Timboland" with his appropriately titled first ep on iD.EOLOGY.
And even though it's obvious that the language of the country is electro
and there seems to be a C64 logo in the ensign, the eponymous native is
pretty much busy with things essentially human. Be it an enthusiastic
plea for nonsense, the diatribe of a radical bicycle-lobbyist, a
nostalgic obituary for a videogame-character still alive, a resolute
rejection of chemical romances, a merciless reckoning with passing water
while standing or one of his other way-out droll stories out of everyday
life - Das Timbo has a lot of stuff to tell.
And since, in a breezy and uncompromising fashion, he knows how to amaze
with us both, his combination of idiosyncratic perspectives with
sound-aesthetics no less idiosyncratic as well as some high and
infectious wisdom, we keep listening to him both amused and fascinated
and keep forgetting that we really need to be getting on the way home
sometime this day.
