The British based group LSD were responsible for the legendary diskmagazine Grapevine. This magazine has been released since 1988. Pazza of LSD was the founder and editor in chief of this magazine. Though he officially left the project and more or less the scene, Grapevine is going through several changes and is about to be released.
\2
In the past, Grapevine consisted of many articles filling two or three disks. The articles were mostly taken from bulletin boards, or hastly written by sceners. Half of the magazine wasn't even scene related. But from now on, Grapevine is more focused on the scene, and will have a totally new and innovating code. "A nice easy to use, user friendly system but still a very powerful one. It has the ability for you to load your own Iff backdrops in behind an article, load your own modules, change any aspect of the pallette, change the fonts, redefine the keys. You can even draw your own 16 colour background for the article and there is a file requester to select it. Iff images are used.", Raider of LSD explains.

\3Magic:
\2Why will you continue the Grapevine? I know Pazza more or less turned over his magazine to somebody else in LSD, but why didn't you guys start a magazine on your own instead of continue an existing magazine?

\3Raider:
\2"We thought LSD had virtually died out. We liked the old Grapevine and wanted to do a diskmag anyway. So why not continue the name? We are concentrating on scene related topics, and not the pages of crap that was there before. And the writers like me are going out and finding stories from the net and IRC aswell as any other source we think of. I wrote a few articles for Grapevine 16, 17, 18 and 19, so I have enough expierence."

\3Magic:
\2What else will be different in the new Grapevine when you compare it to the old issues?

\3Raider:
\2"Well, issue 22 will be on probably one disk. What we are doing is making it HD installable and also multi-tasking. And the same reader can be used for any issue if you like, just load a data file. That way it cuts down on wasted space on the graphics all the time. It will be two disk at the most, but one disk is more likely. The reader will come with every disk version so that the thing can boot but you don't need more than one reader on the HD."

\3Magic:
\2So when will issue 22 be released? And do you guys have any good and steady writers except for LSD members?

\3Raider:
\2"Not yet, that is why I am spreading the word on IRC. We have only just decided to start advertising. There is no point in getting everyones attention and then being delayed again. We are asking for editors, and we will try to contact a few of the known ones. We are aiming to release the 22nd issue of Grapevine some time in august."

The name Grapevine will maybe get another meaning after issue 22, but for now we can only do but wait, and see what 'new' magazine the scene gains from a couple of motivated sceners who are willing to work on it. Many mags closed their doors in 1995, but 1996 seems to be a good start for many new magazines in the scene. Maybe miracles do excist?
