\MIt is known for some time now
\Mthat TRSI will continue the
\MCompass magazine. We could read
\Mabout it in several magazines
\Mthroughout the scene the last 15
\Mmonths. Compass issue 1 was
\Mreleased under the Alcatraz
\Mlabel with as main editors
\MDisney and Mop.
\2
After the first issue Mop left to build up ROM, and Disney would continue Compass together with TFG (ex-Top Secret editor) under the Sanity label. ROM was released, Compass faded away. And now TRSI is the group that will continue the Compass magazine. "Me, Control, Mop and some other writers I know will write for Compass", Shade of TRSI explains.

Why do people want to stick to a name from the past anyway? Don't they have enough time to figure out a name for themselves? Or will this damage their image as a legendary Group? Also Control of TRSI confirmed that TRSI actually has ambitions to move over to the diskmag scene. "Diskmag plans are in development! We will probably start a coop DiskMag with
Complex! Shade will be the Mained, the code of Maggy (that's the name of their legendary diskmag) is going to be updated and we simply need a cool Menu-Panel!", he explains.

So this will be something to look forward to if they manage to do it. But what name will be used for the magazine? Compass? Maggy? When I asked Mop about this, he said that he only writes for ROM these days. He also would do everything to prevent the usage of the Compass name. Mop: "It will not be the same Compass, just a magazine with the same name."

I did what I had to do, and explained the matter to Shade, who contacted Mop right away to settle the quarrel. Shade wanted to use the Compass name. He thought Mop would write for it too as he has known Mop for a very long time. But after a talk between the two, Shade changed his mind: "I will not use the name out of respect for the original makers of Compass. But I was not the one originally wanting to use the name! I just go with the flow. I have alot of respect for Mop, I will change it, as I see he REALLY dislikes it!"

So what will happen now? Will TRSI, who definately wants a diskmagazine again, go into business with Complex? Will they use the Maggy name? Or will they start a diskmag with a new name afterall? We asked Shade for some facts. Shade: "Madison of TRSI coded a magazine from scratch but hasn't finished it yet. Complex wants to release Maggy again, and we might cooperate with them, and we also got the old Compass code from Alcatraz. But nothing is certain yet."

In conclusion TRSI isn't allowed to use the Compass name, and atleast Shade of TRSI will not use the name. A cooperation between the two legendary groups TRSI and Complex is established, though maybe motivation will be a key word in the realization of this innovative idea. Mop is satisfied now when the Compass name will not be used, and maybe the scene will witness the rebirth of a magazine under the Maggy name. Who said scene history can't repeat itself?
