\I[Dansktoppen - Just as It Is|By Solnova/Movement|Section: Disk Magazines]

\F1\3\MIn the previous artcicle No
\MSense contradicts the thoughts
\Mof Pearls of Passion (the main
\Meditor of Dansktoppen) on
\Mhow No Sense could be
\Mimproved. Of course, his words
\Mdon't mean anything to us,
\Mor for him, as it's mostly
\Mwritten for fun, if I'm right, that
\Mis. However, No Sense got
\Mhands of some old text from
\MSolnova, supposed to be used
\Min a scrolltext in an intro by
\MMovement for Dansktoppen.
\MWe thought it was very fun rea-
\Mding and decided to include the
\Mwhole text, just as it was.

\F2\4\MDansktoppen - Worst Radioshow!
\F1

\F1\2This delicate little piece of gathered binaries was brought to life on behalf of the "Dansktoppen" staff who talked us into the making of an intro for the sixth issue of their, for the eyes of the Danish "scene" only, chart.

Since this "Dansktoppen Intro" is meant as an introduction to Dansktoppen (!) we may have to explain a few things for the audience outside Denmark:

Dansktoppen is named after a Danish radio show and directly translated it means "the Danish top". Nowadays it's commonly known that such "a top" in the Danish scene have been somewhat non existent for the past few years. Some people involved in the scene today may vaguely recall the long gone days of glory where the Danes were known to be some of the most powerful, innovative and important in the art of demo creation.

Needless to say, like all other religions did also the Danish scene wear out and has for about a good three years been as dead as the Christian church has for a couple of hundred years.

Denmark was on retreat and now that so little divine products came out something was definitely lacking, a small group of idealistic people decided to found a chart called "Dansktoppen" (cleverly named after one of the worst radio shows available in Denmark) they believed that stimulation of the self confidence amongst the Danish sceners would help Denmark gaining back her strength on the demo front.

Of course this idea, no matter how good the intentions were, failed. The vote sheets always reached the same circle of people and Dansktoppen soon became the chart of an isolated group of Danes, the results appearing in the charts were predictable and everything but stimulating, chances for the chart to be counted for as valid statistic material were and still are very small.

I hope now that the looks of this intro makes more sense as it represents an era long gone in history of Amiga demo making, it should therefore be remembered as a tribute to the following guys for giving the world something to remember: Kefrens, Dexion, Silents DK, Magician 42 and Sodan, Channel 42, Rebels DK.
