\I[Soul of Movement|By Frame|Section: Personalities]
\F1\M\1(Continued from last page.)
\3

If you've still got some favourite scene musicians, tell me about who they are and why you like them.

\2- There are a few people who have done well-composed little things throughout their career. Among those my favourites would be Groo, Audiomonster, Heatbeat, Dizzy, Ukulele and Jogeir. I guess I could mention about five more but this will do. Groo for his never-ending will to always make progress and his brilliant ways with rhythms. Audiomonster for the outstanding melodies. Heatbeat for his 2000 modules and legend status. Dizzy for his eternal jazz-structures and strong will not to leave the jazzy-touch department for glory and gold. Ukulele for the humour provided in everything he does and Jogeir because I just love the way he uses clichees. (Which one should not be afraid of when nothing else works - "words of wisdom part 1")

\3Favourite music apart from the modules and the scene, in real life, I mean?

\2- I should probably say that I think most kinds of music is great - but fearing for becoming pretentious I won't tell why. I'm mostly into jazz and techno. Drum&bass in particular, but fancy quite a lot of artists in other departments.

\3Could you mention some of them?

\2- Favourites could be Sting, Pat Metheny, Pink Floyd, Tori Amos, The Doors, David Bowie, Lloyd Cole, The The, Saint Etienne, Brian Eno, FSOL, Aphex Twin, Cocteau Twins, Spiritualized,rk, Tricky, Massive Attack, Portishead, Gavin Friday, Nick Cave, Pet Shop Boys, Black Dog, Chick Corea and the techno artists with everchanging pseudos and so on...
\3Have you ever played in any band?

\2- I have played in a few. Keyboards in small for-fun bands with friends and in windbands and symphonic orchestras, playing the tuba. When I was like 14 years old I played in a band brought together by the music school. The other members are all going in for music at a professional level by now. Among them my younger brother - the saxophone freak. At the moment there is no band though. No time, no bass player ;). It's quite fun to jam with a couple of friends but when it comes to the pure pleasure of composing I'd rather just turn 'em knobs on my synths.

\3You are 20 years old now. What do you do when not composing?

\2- I'm studying Engineering Biology at The University of Umea in Sweden aiming for drug research and the plain good-old biotechnology industry. On the way I hope to learn how to build the perfect world and the perfect people to populate it. I live in a corridor with 13 other students and I quite like that way of living.

\3The summer is here. Anything particular happening in your case?

\2- I'll spend this summer reading books that my girlfriend has won and composing as much music as I can manage. I failed to get a job this summer despite my numerous applications. Which sucks. I'm using up my savings instead, as I like to have meals on a regular basis even in the summer. No trips or fancy things are planned so I guess it's basically going to be the hanging around thing this summer. Which is not quite as bad as it may sound to some of you...

\3After the summer?

\2- After the summer I'll take up with the task of introducing new students in Technical Biology to university life and learn them one or two things about computers on the way. After that the routine studying thing kicks in again - on to new heights with chemistry.

\3Before leaving Soul I couldn't stop myself from asking about Movement. You told me a demo was planned.

\2- Well. To say the least - Movement is asleep. Let's see if anything can wake us up. The demo that you're referring to is only existing in the super-unknown part of Robotniks brain. I don't know if there's more rumours to come. I guess a sort of trip into his electronic brain would be nice.

\3Okay! I'm pleased that you've taken time for me and No Sense. Couldn't thank you enough!

\2- You're welcome. Thanks yourself.
