\2Regarding an article written in the very first issue of your disk-zine, I really feel I must comment your way of looking at the scene. It seems that many sceners of today are really concerned about how other groups run their business. You say that there is a big commercialization of the scene. Everybody is just interested in money. But this is not true. Everybody doesn't do like other groups - e.g. follow the example of Virtual Dreams or other money-hungry groups. They follow their own designs and don't care about the money. If some groups are in the scene for the money then that is their problem. But then they will eventually quit when they notice how little money there is to gain.

I think that there really is two scenes right now. One where the people are only working for party-releases, trying to gain some money on making demos. And one were the real hackers are situated. Were friendship rules and it is all about having fun. This is the real scene.

Perhaps, eventually the commercial scene will die, or at least change into something apart from the scene. But the real hacker-scene will never die. There are people in the scene, that started out because of the fun of it, not for the money and not for being respected by some runny-noises 13-year olds. Myself, for example, only program on the Amiga for the sake of having fun. Why should I make demos, if not for the joy of putting it all together. If I wanted to make money I would buy a PC and write worthless Windows programs and get A LOT of money. No, there is no threat against the scene. Just look at the C-64 scene, still alive and kicking because of the real hacker scene. I think really that this "threat" you are talking about is good for the scene, eventually, in a year or two, we will get a real Amiga-scene. Like it was in the good old days, when friendship and hacking ruled. And all those freaks measuring a computers abilities in MHz will use Word on their precious 30000 MHz systems, not knowing what it feels like to optimize those last bytes.
