1.Editorial
I was just without anything to do and this idea came to my mind... I asked around
on irc what people though of it and since it was not flamed i decided to release the very
first issue of demojournal. (until i get a better name for it!) I'm an atheu so i don't
believe in that god crap but since we must have a time schedule to guide us i decided to
put the date of the release up there so all you folks out there can follow the time elapsed
since i wrote this down! So it's like this: On friday afternoon i round up all stuff and
bring it home (i have only an account at my university) so i can write it all down on the
weekend! I will only write it down once and review it once again so don't feel offended
if my spelling sucks and so forth! On monday i send it via email to the subscribers (if
there are any!) and spread it through internet on #coders, #trax, #pixel, #demofr and
other demoscene channels! So get that firewall down and prepare your DCC-get!
Another thing before i procede: The idea is to open this thingie at windows and enjoy
a nice time of good listening to some CD or mod music! So exit the edit, enter windows and
restart reading NOW! The text is also lined down according to windows notepad size so you'll
be able to read complete sentences aswell!

A new demogroup has been formed! Members idiotboy, shock and psychic are
still discussing names for it. The idea was to form the first 3 continents wide
demogroup! Shock is now in 4 (or 5?) demogroups and is trying to break the world
record. Anyone wants to give him a hand? :P idiotboy remains with plastik and
psychic remains with label!
Antiq demoparty is beeing held in hungary has i write! Since i don't
have a clue where to get the stuff from i won't write... Grab issue #2 and i'll
let you know!
Gooroo is looking for a new group! Leaving my adversity with gooroo aside
(i hate him! ;) he stated in #coders and i quote: 'i am looking for a new group to join!'.
Looks like what forced him to take this position was the fact that he feels lonely being a
solo coder! :( Poor gooroo! Here! Have this candy... ;)
The Utopians are decided to claim back The Gathering has a true demoparty event.
For this The Utopians will use the 'force' and unite all other Demoscene utopians to
takeover all vacant places at the party before the game playing and porno swapping lamers
come in! They do not plan to use violence but will start playing demos and .mod's out loud
when the time seems needed! Help The Utopians claim back what is rightfully ours!
Let us all gather at The Gathering '99 and have a true demoscene party! Party on!

Alex and unreal are building up a lawsuit against the spice girls for using their
particles effect on their latest hit-single video 'viva forever'! The particle effect is
clearly identical to the one featured on the 'tribes' demo they put up together with camel,
scorpik and falcon for tp7! For the most stupid readers those 3 last names are not animals
but handles of 3 pulse crew members!
statix is leaving his brilliant programming career halfways because he discovered
his true passion: Being a clown! It looks like he decided this after staring at his picture
on his homepage for 3 whole hours!
Clonage cientists are rumoured to be asking echo how was he able to make so
many clones on such a short period of time! Following his intros at Takeover '98 called
'Clone meets clone' and at Summer Encounter '98 entitled 'Kill the clone' echo plans to make
a prequel called 'I am a clone!' specially to illucidate the cientists! Our sources however
do not know in which party will this new intro be realeased at! Our sources DO know that
the remaining members of both ACME and Fudge are planning an hostile takeover by naming his
intro 'Rapping a clown!' Echo has no coments on this subject!

Also, i would like to ask these events organizers to send me their homepage or
email contact (if they read this text) so that readers can get in touch and actually go
there! :)
If you want you can send small paragraphs about party events, reports or ideas
so i can post them here! Such has ftp sites where you can get the party's entrys from and
so on! Party results will also be welcome! But after organizing a party i guess you just
want to sleep for a couple of weeks so i guess i have to go after those myself!

Since i met krii for the first time on irc today i must tell you to go get
'shapes in motion', a tokyo dawn records guest release!
Get tokyo-54.zip from www.tdr.scene.org (look assign, i memorized it! too bad i
already have all files... DOH!)
It's a nice mellow drum n bass with some vocals from this commercial song i
don't recall the name! Very well put together! Enjoy the tune!

The chart system works like this: You send me a mail stating who you think is
kicking some ass right now with their latest production! And i mean now! Don't say
future crew or something like that! This is a chart i promised acryl i would do! :P
The chart where the guys who are struggling to get known are seen! You want to see who
is working their butt off? Check these charts out! Every week i withdrawn 1 point from
each votee and just add the votes i got this week! So if 12 people vote for unreal
he will remain in the chart for at least 12 weeks! So don't vote for the BEST! vote for the
guy who just released a kickass release! The best will be there if he does his job right!
The working guy will not unless he does another kickass product! vote acording to what you
have just seen! If you have seen 'second reality' yesterday then ill accept future crew for
best group! It's up to you! Do the right thing!

Notice how i voted and have this in mind when you do to: Trauma because they won
asm98, gateways because it's the most recent kick-ass demo! Magnesium because of the help
he offered me doing a reader for this! Paniq because i've been downloading lots of tokyo
dawn records .mod's and he has been very active lately! And acryl because i saw his kick-ass
work on Dreams2 and his nick is hardly on any charts!
11.Nostalgia
This section is for emulators and old games stuff! Send in paragraphs!
I'm currently trying to finish 'shining in the darkness' RPG for megadrive/genesis.
It sucks on graphics and the plot is just to linear but once you have started an RPG
you can't just quit, now can you? My advice: Don't play this... Better off with
'phantasy star IV' also for the megadrive/genesis which totally kicks ass! (Psychic)

Well... This is it! The end of the first issue of demojournal! Feel free to send
me votes and small paragraphs for any sections and i'll make sure your name is on the
credits section! Also... Magnesium asked me if i wanted him to do the code and so transform
this into a multinational 'pain'! I'm not sure! The original idea is to have just one
text people can read while listening to some cool mod's or musical CD's. Besides, it is a
lot more easy to put it up together this way... It's smaller and all! Anyone thinks different
way let me know and i'll talk with magnesium! thanks to him in advance for promptly asking me
if i wanted him to do me a txt-mode reader for this! You rule! :)
