Congratulations:
You have selected the best (and only) PC compatible
4 channel digitized music composing utility. You
have also installed it, which is quite a remarkable
accomplishment.
Files distributed with Scream Tracker (after installation):

ST.SET - setup information
ST.HLP - help file
*.ILB - example instrument libraries
ST.DOC - documentation, users manual
CSAMP.EXE - convert amiga sample utility
STMOD.EXE - external moduleplayer
*.STM - scream tracker modules
README - this file
REGISTER.DOC - how to register
TECH.DOC - technical information
RELEASE.DOC - date/time of the program
REGISTER.FRM - registeration form (see REGISTER.DOC)
Important notice:
Scream Tracker, and it's utilities playing music DON'T
like working together with QEMM, 386MAX or other 386
specific memory programs which use the VM86 mode. It's
best that you disable them when using Scream Tracker.
Another important notice:
Do not rename ST.EXE. It must reside in the System directory
in it's original condition!
Playing musics to cassette:
To play many musics in batch mode, create a batch file which
runs ST with followin commandline:
ST <songname> /S
make these rows for every music you want to play, and then
run the batch file! ST does the rest (except presses REC on
your tape recorder...)
Converting Amiga samples:
Distributed with Screm Tracker there is CSAMP.EXE which
will convert amiga samples (<64K) to ST samples. To convert
for example NICESAMP type CSAMP NICESAMP.
Converting Voxkit samples:
Distributed with Screm Tracker there is CSAMP.EXE which
will convert voxkit samples (<64K) to ST samples. To convert
for example NICESAMP type CSAMP NICESAMP. Remark that
Voxkit samples must be in unpacked 8 bit format!
The example song:
The song (titled: SONG) is an example of different
commands used in ST, and is NOT (as you will soon
notice) a piece of great music. These will be availible
elsewhere. It demostrates the use of nearly all commands
availible, and is mainly meant for studying...
Program update/registeration and newer versions:
This program and it's related utilites are supported
in Silicon Dragon MBBS (+358-(9)21-500318).
In Silicon, general talk about Scream Tracker can
be found in the Scream Tracker conference, and files
suprisingly from Scream Tracker file-area.
Special mode:
The ST can be started with two asterisks as a parameter (ST **)
In this mode a special options menu is displayed, which can be used
to verify the owner and for other task described in future.
The first code question only affects running so called STP programs.
More about them in the future too...
