SCENE STRIKE 2 - OFFICIAL INVITATION

SCENE STRIKE 2 IS HERE! Yes, after all the chaos, confusion and turmoil, we can finaly present you the long awaited invitation, which should inform you of all the nitty-gritty details about the party. Naturaly, since both you and me know what sort of a country we live in, some of the data in here will not be complete, but it is the best we can come up with right now, and it really is essential that we release this invitation now. Why? Read on...

[<----------- 2 ---------->]

Scene Strike 2 happens in the same place it's predecessor was held in, which is Cinema Rex, Belgrade, Yugoslavia. The full address is:
Cinema REX,
Jevrejska ulica 16
11000 Beograd If you don't mind, instead of writing about it all over from scratch, I will copy the instructions about reaching C-Rex from the SS1 invitation:

For those of you who are from Belgrade, getting there is quite simple. Just get onto the tram number 2 going FROM the train station towards Dorcol. When you pass the zoo at your left, the tram will turn right and stop. From there on, just search for the "Jevrejska" street, it should be right across the street from you. For people outside of Belgrade, who will be coming by car, the procedure is either to drive by the explanations above, or simply - BUY A MAP! Those of you coming by bus or train should wait for tram number 2 in front of the railway station. Since the tram goes both ways (left and right) you should wait for it on the side of the station that is closer to the grill-stands. From there on, the tram will go for a while, until you see the "Kalemegdan" park on your right. From there on, follow the instructions above. For foreigners it might be a bit complicated to reach, so those of you coming from abroad should either follow the instructions above, if you are self confident enough, or if not, contact us, and someone will be waiting for you at the station. Ways to contact us are described below.

Scene Strike 2 will be held on September 27/28th, which is on saturday/sunday. Yep, you got it right, it will last for two days, starting at saturday noon, lasting throughout the entire saturday and, naturaly, saturnight ;-) going on through sunday, and closing the shop sunday night, after everyone clears out of C-Rex. Now, the plan goes like this: Saturday and the consecutive night are there for setting up all the hardware, getting comfortable in C-Rex, and having a proper old-fashioned PARTY! On sunday, after we wake up with the worst bloody case of hangover we all ever had, it will be time for the compos. You will be able to turn in your entries between saturday, 12:00 noon, and sunday, 02:00PM, which gives you 26 hours to do it. If fifty guys turn up at two o'clock on sunday saying "Ah, golly, here we are, right on time, with our entries," we will most likely be extremely pissed at them, and delay the party, fucking up their entries in the meantime. HOWEVER! Those who bring their own machines to the partyplace and make their entries right there, on the spot, within those 26 hours, get a special hyper-elite status on the party. After we examine all the entries, so that there are no more cock-ups like those at SS1, we shall commence the compos. This will certainly not be before 04:00PM, and it will, most likely, be a bit later, so you can plan your day according to that. The competitions are the usual:

amiga 64k intro
amiga demo
pc 64k intro
pc demo
wild
4channel modules
multichannel modules
pixel art
photoshop
raytrace
ascii
[<----------- 2 ---------->]

You are all able-minded sceners and you know what each of them means, so I will not go into any in-depth explanations. I'll only mention that the modules may not exceed 640Kb (it's enough for everyone, isn't it, Billy?), and may not last longer than 4 minutes and 28 seconds, because after that we will get *very* tired of listening to most peoples stupid copycat trance. We had some weird compos planned, but due to a major hard drive crash, we lost all the data and the stuff we were preparing... to hell with it anyway, the party is there for the fun of it. Anyway, enough about the compos, on to the more important stuff...

[<----------- 2 ---------->]

The compo machines. We do have problems with these, you know. No, not with the Amiga, it has bloody standards, and it is adaptable enough to be able to use any hardware we hook up to it, but the PC's video adapters and it's damned VESA 2.0 which has problems with video beams... I won't bore you with the long story which lies beneath this, I'll just say that if you use VESA2.0 stuff, you should be forewarned that there is an extremely high probability that we will not be able to display it on the video beam. So, the compo machines themselves are:

compo machines:

Amiga:
A1200 + Blizzard 1260 + 16mb
A4000/040 (MC68040/25) + 8mb
A1200 + Blizzard 1230 + 16mb
PC:
P133, miroMEDIA (S3 Virge, 2mb, VESA 1.2), GUS (AWE32 optionally)

...phuzzy dies at this moment, so domin8r have to take over at 4:30 AM... anyway.... We are preparing many suprise events, various lunatic competitions like 'graphicians make music' and 'musicians do pixels'. I am really not capable at the moment to think of every category we've been tripping around last days, but there is still some time left until scene strike 2 begins...

...prizes are well defined as 'scene & fun oriented'. since we are working closely with some scene cd-rom and audio production teams like Zyklop software from germany and TRSI Recordz from austria, we will provide exotic scene cd colections and scene music cd's. There will of course be some additional rewards, but this time we decided to concetrate on THE SCENE as it WAS and SHOULD BE - a NON-COMERCIAL gathering. If you are planning to earn a living working on the scene, get real and try another job.

...for those interested: entry fee is 0 money - your computer is the only thing you need. along with the additional power cords. bring them too. and that's it. EOI [end of invitation]

...for any coments/questions/informations
