Welcome to the first ever 100% version of Eliminator! Since most of you are interested in the greetings only I will put them at the beginning of this text. Technical info about this release will follow after the greetings. 'Merry Christmas dudes!' greetings to: Brainwalker, Galahad, Wayne Kerr, Mr. Spiv, PMC, KWE, Musashi5150, Hoffman, Frequent, Loaderror, PHX, Corial, Dalezy, Photon, Slummy, Paradroid, Raylight, Virgill, Chromag, Musashi9, Britelite, Bracket, Premium, Lincoln, Rebb, Krill, Mad, Mermaid, Frost, Browallia and all I have forgotten. Group greetings to Scarab, Focus Design, Moods Plateau, Software Failure, Spaceballs, Ephidrena, Zymosis, Loonies, Code Red, Ghostown, Pacific, Y-Crew, Lemon., Resistance, Nukleus, Dekadence, Extend, Wanted Team and all active Amiga sceners. Now for some technical info. All versions released back in the day lacked the intro and crashed once the game was completed! The intro used a strange but interesting loader which used level 1 and level 2 interrupts, loading was performed in the level 2 interrupt and then the loaded data was checked in the level 1 interrupt. I'm not surprised that there were no versions with the intro until now as understanding the loader was not that easy! The game also uses almost the complete 512k so it was quite tricky to create a fully working version with all patches. But now, for the first time ever on Amiga, you can fully enjoy this game! The game originally only worked on OCS machines, I have fixed all problems (wrong DDFSTOP settings, trashed bitplane pointers, disguised hardware register access which only worked on 68000 machines, buggy keyboard code, CPU dependent delays and more stuff like that) so the game now works on all Amigas, at least I hope so! There might be some minor glitches in the intro on fast machines, I couldn't find the reason for these (probably the strange blitting routines) but don't consider this much of a problem either. Since the game is quite hard I have also added some trainers, please note that highscore saving will be disabled once you decide to use any trainer option! Speaking of the trainer, I finally got around to coding a new trainer menu, it sure was about time! :) You might recognise the background effect, I recycled that one from my "Cube-o-Bootic" bootblock intro which I released at the Finnish Amiga Party in December 2012. I then added the trainer stuff and some '1993 design' which I still like and after a few hours the code for the trainer menu was finished. And while it isn't anything special I kinda like it as it reminds me of days long gone by. Stay tuned for more Scoopex releases in 2015. Scroller restarts...
