ESPECIALLY AMIGER FOR TESTING THE SCOOPEX CRUNCHER V1.0 AND GIVING HELPFUL COMMENTS! HELLO TO ALL THE GUYS AT THE ENGLISH AMIGA BOARD FOR RENEWING MY INTEREST IN THE AMIGA! AND FRIENDLY REGARDS TO ALL OF THE TITANS OF THE 1988-1992 A500 DEMO SCENE FOR MAKING THAT TIME AN ARTISTIC AND INTELLECTUAL LANDMARK IN THE HISTORY OF COMPUTING! ESPECIALLY * TAI-PAN * OF PHALANX+COMPLEX... YOU'RE STILL THE UNDISPUTED MASTER OF ALL DEMO CODERS IN MY MIND... NORMAL GREETINGS TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HELPS KEEP THE AMIGA ALIVE 'N' KICKIN' !! ----------------- TECHNICAL INFO: SOURCE SIZE: 73K -- COPPER LIST SIZE 2064 BYTES -- NO PRECALCULATED STUFF, WORKS WITH ANY WAVE -- SCROLLER IS OPTIMIZED, BUT NOT ANAL, BECAUSE I WANTED SOME MORE STUFF ON THE SCREEN. (SEE IT AS A CHALLENGE TO DEFEAT ME HEHE) SO NOW THE MAXIMUM WAVE HEIGHT IS 64 PIXELS, MAYBE I'LL MAKE A MAXIMIZED VERSION FOR THE MEGADEMO ... CRUNCHED WITH OUR SCXCRUNCH V1.02 AND PUT 'IN A SAK' (TM) V0.1 - THE STARFIELD IS REMADE WITH 128TH PIXEL PRECISION IN 26 CYCLES LESS AND TABLE REMOVED -- SCROLL IS VERSATILE AND HAS COMMANDS TO CONTROL OTHER ELEMENTS ON THE SCREEN, LIKE THE FADE IN AND TIMED EFFECTS AT THE START OF THIS DEMO! THE WAVE EFFECT IS DONE WITH 110 BLITS AND USES BLTAFWM + BLTALWM TO SAVE ONE BLITTER SOURCE. THE DEMO USES 68 SPRITES AND 'INTERLEAVES' THE COPPER TO GET SMOOTH COPPER SHADES WITH 29000+ COLORS INSTEAD OF THE USUAL 4096. ********************** STARDATE 2005.1.3: I'VE BEEN CELEBRATING NEW YEAR'S EVE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND A FEW GUYS DECIDED TO STAY OVER. IT'S 1.21 A.M. AND ALMOST EVERYONE ELSE HAS GONE TO BED... BUT * SCOOPEX * IS EVER VIGILANT! (AND EVER INTOXICATED! ...NOT!) I'M GLAD BECAUSE MY LITTLE PROJECT - TO RELIVE THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF CODING AMIGA ASSEMBLER HAS TURNED OUT WELL AND I HAVE ONLY TO CODE SOME MORE COMMANDS FOR THE SCROLL ROUTINE! RIGHT NOW I'M SITTING BY THE XMAS TREE IN MY WOODEN COTTAGE BEDROOM AND FEELING TOOOASTYY! THE NEW COMMANDS WILL CONTROL HOW THE ON-SCREEN ELEMENT WILL BE INTRODUCED IN SYNC WITH THE MUSIC, AND SOME OTHER STUFF. I'M CURRENTLY WELL PASTED, BUT NOT SO BAD THAT I CAN'T CODE ASSEMBLER! (OR WRITE A BORING SCROLLER!) ... I STILL HAVE A FEW DAYS LEFT OF THE XMAS HOLIDAYS BEFORE I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE UNIVERSITY TO FINISH MY 2-YEAR GAME DEVELOPER STUDIES. I'LL TRY TO DEVOTE AS MANY OF THOSE DAYS AS POSSIBLE TO AMIGA CODING, I HAVE AN IDEA FOR A SUPER-FAST VECTOR POINT CALCULATION ROUTINE! ON A500 OF COURSE, THAT'S THE ONLY CHALLENGE... IT'S MUCH TOO EASY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE A1200'S HARDWARE... MAYBE I'LL STUDY FOR 2 MORE YEARS TO BECOME A 3D ANIMATOR IF I DON'T GET A JOB RIGHT AWAY. THEN I WILL BE ABLE TO DO SMALL, PLAYABLE GOOD LOOKING GAMES ALL ON MY OWN! - - - - - I HOPE I WILL HAVE THE MENTAL WILLPOWER TO FINISH THE *S.T.U.N.N.E.R* TRACKMO THAT WAS NEVER RELEASED IN 1991 DUE TO LIFE GETTING IN THE WAY. I FOUND SOME OLD SOURCES AND GRAPHICS BUT IF I FINISH IT, IT WILL BE A MIX OF OLD AND NEW ROUTINES SINCE I DON'T HAVE ALL THE SOURCE DISKS. (SHAME ON ME, BUT I NEEDED THE DISKS FOR OTHER STUFF BACK WHEN DISKS WERE EXPENSIVE (FOR A TEENAGER WITHOUT A JOB ANYWAY!)) ... ANYWAY, I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS DEMO AND THAT IT CAN INSPIRE SOME AMIGA FREAKS TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE OF CODING AWESOME STUFF FOR THE A500! +++++++++++++++++++++++++ RASTAHUNDI SKOGEN, SEDAN RASTAFARI SKOGEN!!! -- OVER AND OUT, abcdefghijkl
