Welcome dear sceners in the fourth issue of 'RedPack' released by RedBullz.
This time delay was caused by terrible crash of my Amiga. I have lost all
data for this issue of 'RedPack'. I had to ask people to support once again.
I want to say thanks to Hris, Sator and Thorr who helped me with this issue
of RedPack.
I bet you noticed the title picture is made by Sator of Victims. This
picture was Sators' contribution for Rush Hours'98 Party but selection didn't
like it much... They prefered fucking scans like 'Crazy Man' by Kro/Phace
Truce or 'Gray' by Fame/Floppy+Nah-Kolor. BTW: Kro's 'hand made graphic'
actually won the competition. I don't understand it. Why really selfmade
pictures done by real graphicians didn't get through selection and those
"graphics" made by fucking scanners won the competition and took high
places?! What is wrong with you people?! What is wrong with our scene?!
Quality of picture isn't important. Only handle does a job. If you are
famous you always get the result. Including music compos, where nice modules
aren't passed because nobody know musician who has done the module. It's sad
but unfortunately true. Famous handles take all.
Let's say something more about Rush Hours'98. Party was great and I'm really
sorry, that I couldn't be there. We can drink vodka another time he, he.
Shame that productions weren't as good as mood of this party. Mentioned
above faked pictures and terrible demos (including a Zoltan's slideshow done
by Mawi, which took 2nd place in demo competition. I don't understand that -
maybe you do?). The best was VHS Compo with those wonderful animations
(better than commercials or even film effects). Poles rule! Amiga intros
were very high quality too. Especially 4 kb intro coded by Maq of Endzeit or
64 kb intro coded by Ace/PHT. I think that pC productions were quite high
quality too but I don't care about it. Fuck da pece!
Well, 'RedPack' is better every issue. Issue#3 was good but I must apologise
you for some bugs (I mean that outdated invitation for Mekka). I hope in
this issue there aren't any bugs. But if you don't like anything tell me,
and maybe i will change it. Remember that 'RedPack' is a pack about you for
you.
RedBullz group is going to release another pack soon. It will be called 'The
Bumper' and this time it will be about 3D graphics and raytracers only. So,
we need some support like rays, articles, filled votes. All this stuff send
to Locash/RedBullz, Azzaro/Mawi+Anadune or me. Thanks.
In this issue you don't find charts part. I've received only 40 votes and it
is not enough. Please, fill the votes out and send them to our official
collectors. Do this for our beloved scene. Charts must be objective, you
know... Please, fill the votes! Thanks in advance! Remeber that charts
can't exist without filled votes so don't hesitate and move your ass and fill
it. It isn't so difficult as you think. Really... If you don't understand
why you should fill votes, I wonder what are you doing on scene? Go to the
nearest disco pub and enjoy it. Don't waste our time.

A COMMENT TO RED PACK BY RED BULLZ

A few days ago, when I got home from school, I checked my mailbox. In it lay
four letters, and one of them from IDAHO/RED BULLZ. I opened it first, just
to take a glance at his letter. Then I noticed that he had included the
newest issue of RED PACK. Quickly I copied it to my harddrive. Then I
runned the program. After an average intro, my cheek fell down on the table.
"They have for sure renewed the whole concept!", I said to myself. I checked
the charts, messages, adverts and listened to the modules. Most of the
included stuff was great! Finally a pack which suited me.
Since you wanted my opinion about RED PACK, I will be honest and write what I
mean. Here we go. This pack suited me perfect. It was both entertaining
and exciting, so I can't think of anything that could be done better. Maybe
the interface could be drawn better, but it's not necessary. It's more than
good enough, so keep up the good work guys, because this pack is something
that the whole scene needs.
Before I stop writing, I would like to say some words to all sceners out
there. Especially those who haven't filled the RED PACK votesheet yet!
Please support the scene and fill the votesheet at once. It doesn't cost you
more than three-four minutes all in all.

INTRODUCTION
============
After 5 year of pure Atari parties came true that.... Sound played by
Pokey, Yamaha or Falcon processes isn't adequate :( So, QuaST Party had
to join to many multi parties. We changed not only party status but party
place, too. Today many people change on PC, PC is everywhere so we must
subordinate to that. We shouldn't fall behind, must give in to new trends,
multimedia, internet, etc. It's sad but we ended with our chamber party.
Of course Atari & Atarians will lose something but the rest....
But overall we are optimistic :)) Now better stop craping and it's time
for concretes.

QuaST Party '98 competition regulations
=======================================
general principles:
1. every work must contain:
- text file with description & data about author (handle, address, etc.)
- piece of sheet with the same (like above) data.
for example:

During the party will be following competitons:

a) max. time limit - 3 minutes
b) after selection, 10 works will be presented

Witajcie! Przed Wami pierwsze, jeszcze nie oficjalne zaproszenie na trzeciâ
juû edycjë GRAVITY!
Zapewne wielu z Was juû wie, ûe tym razem zdecydowaliômy sië radykalnie
zmieniê dotychczasowâ formuîë party, powracajâc do starych wypróbowanych
tradycji, bâdú wprowadzajâc kilka nowych pomysîów.
Przede wszystkim wiëc GRV3 z zaîoûenia bëdzie spotkaniem ludzi, którzy na
scenie komputerowej coô juû osiâgneli, ewentualnie maja zamiar dokonaê czegoô
w przyszloôci i przy wejsciu przekonajâ nas co do swojej aktywnej postawy.
Uznaliômy, ûe imprezki tego typu po prostu brakuje.
Powodem rewolucyjnych zmian jest takûe chëê dotrzymania wszystkich obietnic
jakie zîoûymy w oficjalnym invitation. Na duûym party czësto jedna sprawa
zaleûy od kilku do kilkunastu ludzi. Wystarczy, ûe ostatnia osoba nawali
i... klapa. Wysiîek, poôwiëcenie pozostaîych osób idzie na marne, a jedynâ
nagrodâ sâ fucki w raportach. Wystarczy jedna poraûka i nikt juû nie
zauwaûa, ûe piëdziesiât innych spraw zorganizowano bez zarzutu! Na mniejszej
imprezce takich problemów jest niewiele. Îatwiej bëdzie teû o prawdziwy,
scenowy klimat, którego nigdy nie zastâpi komercja... Do trzech razy sztuka.

- Tak jak poprzednio spotkamy sië w Opolu, w ostatni weekend wakacji czyli
28-30 sierpnia 1998 (3 dni!). Jest jeszcze trochë za wczeônie na szczegóîy
dotyczâce umiejscowienia i godzin otwarcia party.
- Nie podajemy takûe ceny identa, choê zrobimy wszystko by nie wyniosîa ona
wiëcej niû 15-20zî za "normalny" identyfikator i 10-15zî dla osób z
komputerami. No wîaônie... Wszystkich maniaków podniecajâcych sië do
dzisiaj widokiem stoiska OPTIMUS na GRV'96 od razu informujemy, ûe GRV3
bëdzie imprezâ w 100% niekomercyjnâ. Oto planowana kolejnoôê naszych
wydatków z wpîywów uzyskanych z wejôciówek:
1. Sala + ochrona, 2. Rzutnik + nagîoônienie, 3. Nagrody (wszystko powyûej
poprzednich
wydatków),
- Jak zwykle moûecie liczyê na big screen nie tylko z nazwy.
- Gîosujemy po raz pierwszy w Polsce na dyskietkach! Na koniec podliczanie
gîosów na big screenie. No wîaônie... tego ostatnio pomimo zapowiedzi nie
byîo. Jeôli wiëc nie skoïczymy votera do dnia, w którym opublikowane
zostanie oficjalne zaproszenie, to oczywiôcie poinformujemy Was o tym. Kilku
koderów zaproponowaîo nam takûe wprowadzenie "podwójnych" wyników. Tzn
oprócz oceny publicznoôci gîosowaê bëdâ teû komisje zîoûone z ludzi znajâcych
sië na rzeczy, a nie lamerów fakujâcych zawodowo paper-votki i wygadujâcych
bzdury, ûe ta czy inna produkcja ma sîaby design. Nie wiadomo jeszcze, które
wyniki bëdâ waûniejsze. Dyskusje trwajâ.
- Na kaûdym prawie party music compo dostarcza nam sporâ dawkë jednoznacznie
negatywnych wibracji, dlatego padîy propozycje by dead line na muzykë
wyznaczyê na tydzieï przed party (przesîuchanie w caîoôci np 100 utworów
trwaê moûe przecieû ponad 10 godzin!!!, kto w takich warunkach dokona
rzetelnej selekcji?). W tym wypadku wyznaczona zostaîaby osoba do zbierania
prac poprzez internet i pocztë. Oczywiôcie lista "selected" i "unselected"
bëdzie stale uaktualniana na stronie WWW GRAVITY3.
- Nagrody najprawdopodobniej nie bëdâ zbyt wysokie (ale bëdâ!!!), za to
postaramy sië by staîy najbardziej prestiûowymi z tych przyznanych w 1998
roku. Ludzie! Tu naprawdë nie chodzi o pieniâdze... Nawet 1000 zî za demo
nie jest duûâ sumâ, w szczególnoôci gdy po podziale zostanie dla kodera np.
poîowa tej kwoty. Tylko tyle za dwa miesiâce czësto naprawdë ciëûkiej pracy?
Wiecie ile zarabia byle informatyk w byle banku? A nie ma on najczëôciej
zielonego pojëcia co to takiego phong albo engine 3d....
Ustalone juû konkrety na temat GRV3 znajdziecie oczywiôcie w oficjalnym
zaproszeniu. Pora wiëc przejôê do sprawy, która skîoniîa nas do wydania
tegoû pre-inv.

Wielu ludzi od dîuûszego czasy pyta (w mniej lub bardziej wylewny sposób he
he...) czemu "invite only"? Trzeba wiëc wyjaôniê co i jak, chociaûby dlatego
by po mafii lamerów nie powstaîa nastëpna - mafia elity.
Byîo tak:
1. Poprosiliômy kilkunastu ogólnie znanych scenowiczów o wypisanie (ich
zdaniem) tych najlepszych. Kaûdy znaî innych i w ten sposób po poîâczeniu
tego wszystkiego w jednâ caîoôc powstaîa pierwsza jeszcze nie doskonaîa
lista. Mamy nadziejë, ûe jest juû na niej przynajmniej 80% ludzi, z tych
którzy powinni sië tam znaleúê. Jedynym kryterium wg którego zostaîa
ustalona lista zaproszonych ludzi jest zauwaûalny udziaî w budowaniu
demosceny. Proste jak sîoïce lub jak dwa metry drutu kolczastego w
kieszeni...
2. Nastëpnym krokiem byîo umieszczenie tej listy w pre-inv. Publikujemy jâ
celowo by przy Waszej pomocy POPRAWIÊ i UZUPEÎNIÊ wszelkie ewentualne braki
lub bîëdy. W ten sposób wszyscy zainteresowani (i speîniajâcy kryteria) majâ
szanse dostaê sië na GRV3. Nie wykluczamy takûe, ûe w oficjalnym inv oprócz
pojawienia nowych ludzi na liôcie, mogâ zniknâc niektóre teraz aktualne
ksywki. Wszystko zaleûy od Waszych (uzasadnionych oczywiôcie) uwag i
informacji.
3. Po 30 czerwca lista zostanie zamkniëta. Jej publikacja nastâpi w
oficjalnym invitation.

Sâ bardzo proste...
1. Kodowanie, grafika (2d, 3d, ascii?) i muzyka to coô co po prostu lubisz.
2. Opublikowaîeô juû Swoje prace (demo, intro, pic, mod, zin) i nie byîo to
kompletne dno... Do swoich danych dorzuê tytuîy swoich prac. Oczywiôcie
tych, które uwaûasz za powszechnie znane. Aha... Crazy dema nie bëdâ brane
pod uwagë. Ze zgîoszeï zostanie wybranych max. okoîo 30 osób.
Od razu przestrzegamy. Dresiarze, którzy bëdâ próbowali podszyê sië pod
jakâô znanâ postaê, zrobiâ przysîugë tylko tej osobie (dodajâc jâ na listë),
wszelkie próby oszukiwania organizatorów zwiâzane z listâ ludzi zaproszonych
bëda karane w trybie przyspieszonym przez lotne party-komando >:) Nie ma
szans, w gronie zaledwie 200 osób wszyscy dobrze sie znajâ...

He he... ale czym byîyby zasady bez wyjâtków?
1. Nikomu nie znani ludzie, którzy zjawiâ sië na GRV3 z wîasnym demem lub
intrem, na podstawie kredytów z ich produkcji wejdâ na party i zostanâ
dopisani na listë. Jasnym jest takûe, iû jeôli przed wejôciem pojawi sië
nowa, przez nikogo nie kojarzona twarz (nie koniecznie blada :)) z
jakâkolwiek innâ pracâ konkursowâ i udowodni, ûe jest to dzieîo autorskie,
równieû bëdzie mogîa zalogowaê sië do ôrodka. Of_coz osoba ta bedzie musiaîa
to udowodniê.
2. Jest takûe pewna grupa ludzi, która zawsze zabiera ze sobâ maszyny. W
ich przypadku po prostu nic sië nie zmienia. Uznaliômy, ûe skoro potrafiâ
(choêby tylko w taki sposób) poôwiëciê sië, to naleûy jakoô to doceniê.
Dlatego ludzie którzy wezmâ ze sobâ komputer bëdâ mogli wejôê bez zaproszenia
(dwie osoby na maszynë, oczywiôcie jedna z nich ma prawo do obniûonej ceny
identa). Nie wiadomo wiëc ile ludzi na GRV3 sië pojawi. Zaprosimy 200-300
osób, ale jeôli stanie sië cud i przyjedzie nawet nastëpne 400 osób z
komputerami to nie bëdzie wiëkszekego problemu. Wpuôcimy wszystkich.
3. Dziewczyny rzecz jasna wchodzâ bez jakichkolwiek ograniczeï. Czy ktoô
odwaûy sië przeistoczyê?:)
4. Prasa i ludzie/firmy sponsorujâce nagrody takûe majâ zapewnione wejôcie.

Przede wszystkim chyba najwyûszy czas przypomnieê wszystkim w jaki sposób i
po co wogóle powstaîa scena komputerowa. Jest to bardzo waûne bo wielu
ludzi, z którymi ostatnio rozmawialiômy zaczynaîo na przykîad od GRV'96 i
IO4...
W zamierzchîych czasach kilku facetom znudziîo sie pogrywanie w Boulder Dasha
czy Pole Position. Postanowili zrobiê na swoich maszynkach "coô" wiëcej.
Pierwsi z nich zajeli sië kodowaniem swoich 8-bitowych maszynek, w
szczególnoôci îamaniem gierek:) Póúniej w miarë rozwoju oprogramowania do
koderów doîaczâli nastëpni czyli: graficy, muzycy i na koïcu ray-tracerzy.
I co sië dzieje? W pewnym momencie ludzie ci orientujâ sië, ûe NIE SÂ SAMI.
Wyciskaniem róûnych dziwnych rzeczy zajmujâ sië juû nie tylko ich najbliûsi
koledzy z np sâsiedniego bloku, ale to samo dzieje sië w innych miastach, a
nawet krajach. No i co? Fajnie byîoby poznaê tamtych, spotkaê sië, pogadaê
i wymieniê doôwiadczenia, programy. I w ten sposób dochodzi gdzieô tam do
pierwszego COPY PARTY. Póúniej sâ nastëpne. Ktoô w koïcu jako pierwszy
wpada na pomysî by oprócz pogawëdek i kopiowania sprobowaê wyîoniê tych
najlepszych, a jak? Najlepiej zorganizowaê COMPETITION. No i wszystko
zaczyna sië krëciê... Tym bardziej,ûe demo scena coraz bardziej oddziela sië
wtedy od sceny hackerskiej. Kto wiëc stworzyî scenë? Odpowiedú jest bardzo
prosta: Ludzie, którzy tworzyliby "komputerowâ sztukë" nawet wtedy gdyby
scena wogóle nie istniaîa! Sâ co prawda wyjâtki, ale potwierdzajâ one tylko
reguîë...
Tak, wszystko piëknie tylko, ûe.... w pewnym momencie na scenie pojawiajâ
sië (w o wiele wiëkszej iloôci niû kiedyô) ludzie, którzy sâ na niej nie
dlatego by coô tworzyê ale wyîâcznie dla samego BYCIA. Powody sâ róûne:
Jedni szukajâ sobie kolegów, inni chcâ sië dowartoôciowaê, z kolei nastëpni
dla samej przyjemnoôci dymienia majâ ciâgîe pretensje do ludzi którzy coô
naprawdë robiâ.... a caîe zjawisko utrzymujâ przy ûyciu powstaîe kilka lat
temu komercyjne party na których z resztâ zaprzestano zapraszaê imiennie
ludzi. Organizatorzy tych komercyjnych imprez nie mogâ po prostu bez lamerów
utrzymaê finansowo tak duûych parties.... I tak doszliômy do granic absurdu.
Wielu ludzi ogîosiîo nawet (w szczególnoôci na Amidze) ômierê sceny. Ale
zaraz, zaraz... Przypomnijmy sobie co napisaliômy przed chwilâ!
Kto stworzyî scenë? Ludzie, którzy tworzyliby "komputerowâ sztukë" nawet
wtedy gdyby scena wogóle nie zaistniaîa!

when i was at home i went to my front door and opened it. i saw some man who
had three fat envelopes in his hand. i was shocked becouse he wasn't a
