²Editor's Note:
This article is somewhat old, and should have been used in PROPAGANDA #5, at
the time when I still was attached to the Propaganda-staff, but it seems like
it's getting more and more out of date. I still like the contents of this
article thoug, and thats why it'll be released here...
²+++
..²Is a title of a song, ¹made by the Danish band; KASHMIR, but it's also the
name of this articles. And what's in this article is quite diffrent from what's
in the song. I could have called this song for.. Lick My Sores, or something
like that. Cut the crap, and let's get going!
²JAMIE FAME FLAME, ¹witch also is a title by the very same same band, could
also be mentioned in this article. You see I have selected to write about fame,
infamous persons etc. Ohh, is it cool to be famous? Ofcause it is, but in this
article I have selected to write of some of the backsides of the fame. And this
article is NOT about, charts or something silly like that.
In my oppinion it's MUCH more important, and for that sake more serious...
²YOU SEE, ¹when a person reach the fame-stage; it's normally because he (or
maybe her) has DONE something to get so far, and is therefor, very likely, very
respected - For his work, and For his person. You see if a so called 'Shithead'
becomes famous, he will get down just as fast (You could take XTD, as an fine
example. He is, as far as I'm informed, not very liked in Poland. Even if he
got "the talet").
WHEN he is a respected person, people is kind of afraid (witch proberly is the
wrong word, but I'm in lack of better) to get "in trouble" with him. Afraid for
insulting him - Afraid, if he don't seem friendly enough to this caracter.
Maybe this is a kind of exaggeration, but I hope that you all have got my point
here.
What I'm really moaning about is not that these people are respected; Actullay
i find this as a very good sign. You see you can't possible build up a socity
if all people are equal - Or treaded like they where. (Hi Colorbird, you see
Communism don't really works)
BUT many people overdo it, I means they do more than just respect the fellows;
some even worship them. And it's here the mistake comes, in my oppinion.
Because when somebody finally had the guts to attack him - the rest will
follow. And not just attack him for relevant reasons, but use every chance they
have to make him look bad, in the medias (eg. Diskmags).
IT'S LIKE A TREND, sometimes the scene ain't very keen on hanging people out,
sometimes they are VERY hook on it. But it's allways there, people just need
someone to blame - And if you use famous persons you'll have a better time
yourself. You know:"Wow, I'm VERY brave, I actullay dare to stand up and say
that .... is ugly and smells like fish. Ain't I good?!"
NO, certanly not!
A recent example, witch came in my mind while a was(is) writting this article
is the Helmet-case, for a very long time he was counted as the best editor
ever.(and maybe still is?!) Then somebody broke the shell, and suddenly
everybody - big as low - should write of how lame Helmet was, something came
up; actullay everything came up from he liked Ace Of Base,(witch surely don't
have anything with anything to do. That would be the same like kicking me from
Passion because I'm blond.) to that he was MUCH too arrogant. Many well- known
editors today have actullay lend (somebody would might called it to steal) more
or less of his style.
²WE REALLY NEED A SCAPEGOAT IN THE SCENE!
-But it's easier to select a wellknown person, it kind of makes us feel like
we're some REAL BAD motherfuckers, who just know what's it all about. Said in
another way it gives us self belief
