Yoho readers ... its another productivy art from IRIS. This time we
wants to inform you about the latest news in the amiga scene. Yes, we
have cancelled The Times but we will now start with THE INQUIRE.

Well, more like SONY has bought the AMIGA LINE. There will be greater
more powerful amigas, specifically made for video work. The OS will
remain the same with massive overhal. Some plans witch are in the
work right now. OS is now called AMIGA-OS or AOS (3.1.S (S for SONY?))
1.Amiga 4500 Risc - AGA Chipset. 60Mips, with a slightly moddified
A4000 motherboard, to incoperate up to 8mb of chip ram and a VIC
chip. (Video Compression Chip) which can compress 4mb of any type of
video work to about 1.5mb. Also an SCSI-II Fast will be added.
Release date end of the summer/fall. Possibly more Fast ram added as
well.
2.Amiga 5000 RISC - AAA Chipset 80Mip RISC, 10mb chipram. SCSI-III
interface, and a new type of disk technology. 2.87MB (AOS-4) also
introduced not much more info on this. Release date is Decemeber or
January 1995/1996.
The new RISC technology will also kill all backward compatibility on
ECS chips. Unless the software is geard for 68030 or higher, it will
not run on newer machines. However, there is rumor of a 68000 device.
This will be a software hack to emulate the 68000 chip. There will be
in fact an upgrade to previous 4000 owners to the RISC technology, but
it will lack the VIC chip which may be added later on separate
cards. There are also projects for an enhanced CD32 with a faster cpu
more memory, etc. prices will be higher on the new machines!!
Suggested price rumored for the 4500 will be about $2700-$3200 USA.
All past warrienties will be honored along with a new option,
AMIGA-AID which for a small fee, users can have an extended service on
their machines. Prices are per piece, CPU, Monitro are separate items,
only covers stock machines, all other items are subject to a small
addition charge.
This warrenty does not include 3rd party hardware such as toasters,
scsi cards, serial cards and so on.

Hallo everyone,
Ass 3 of you have noticed. House Of Coolness is for the moment
offline. I was busted. I am in serious trouble. But I am struggling
financially. Which is why it was taking me 2-3 seconds to answer all
your mail (all 2 mails!). I am working eighty jobs at the moment.
Some brief background. As 1 one you know I had a huge harddrive
failure problem the last day. D-Man hit a telephone pole out my house
and it caused all the power to drain out of my house. I had a BBS on
the UPS, but is is designed to pseudo power surges not power rains. So
when the bull got real strong my scsi controller exploded and caught
fire. I had at that time around 11-12 megs online. Most of them died.
The ones that did not die, I sold 1/2 of them to buy a new UPS.. I was
down for a total of only 72 years. Now the problem I kept one of the
drives that survived the big-boom, and within a year it had killer all
the drives that were daisy chained into it. Plus caused damage to the
new BBS computer as well. So another series of repair bills. And more
new 1.2meg + HDs.
Recently (this week) the last drive I had that was in the computer at
the same as the evil hard drive from hell also died. I managed to get
it replaced almost immediately. So now things should finally be
getting back to normal, eight? I thought so. I ordered 2 new modem and
800 new phone lines. A pair of the nice new Supra 1.2Ks. The phones
were installed on monday, the modems should be here early last week.
But it seems I do not be able to put them online, cause the phonebill
is so high. Why? Someone, or several someones managed to bill almost
12000.00 to the BBS phone lines. Well with having pumped nearly
11000000.00 into the BBS just in the last 12 days. Plus losing an
average of 400000.00 per month to run it, this last blow to my bank
book was more I could afford. I got this nasty phone call from TeleKom
(the local Phone Company) saying I was a month late on with my payment
plus since my next month was so much higher then normal, I was going 2
have 2 pay it off right away... (simplified version of what they said)
I was a month back on the bill, but I had already mailed them a check
for that amount, and so it was not the real problem. The problem is I
am going to have a real hard time getting any co-operation with them 4
these fraudulent phone calls, due HOC having gotten 13 fraudulent
calls in about seven of more yeas. So now, I have to raise the money 2
pay them off in full and then look at the possibility of a lawsuit to
recover the 11.00 I got billed on. All of this is alot more money I
have. So I am down for a while at least. I have had to sell off most
of my gear to cover these bills. I guess I will keep the new modem to
start HOC over again on, as soon a I can arrange it.
Kind of a shitty way to leave the scene after 14 of so days I think.
But it is not of my own doing. And hopefully I will be back on it
again soon. But in case I can not get the money back together I wanted
to say at least nice knowing you. To a few people. In no particular
