Welcome to this first issue of The Night Train. We have got a very
nice support to this first issue so I want to greet all the people
who have VOTE and SEND their support to us.
Without you it couldn't be any NIGHT TRAIN so please keep going
with this nice support!. We got 127 votes for the first issue I
don`t think it`s bad ?.
The great intro picture have been made by Axm/ex.The Black Lotus
and this menu is also made by him.. I want to thanks him for all the
great job he his done for me thanks!.
Wizard got all the stuff for this issue on december the 24:th
(who cares about stupid hollidays?:) ) and I wanted to
release it on The Party6 so we have hurried up with this issue very
much, I hope I can include even more stuff next time..
When we will have more time :).
And maybe some nice Cliparts from some good graphians..

keld: Hello.. Crusader please introduce yourself for the readers...
Cdr: hmmm..I'm pretending to be a swapper in SESSION, but my main thing on
the scene is doing ascii's for my ascii group MO'SOUL, which is one of
the top asciigroups on the asciiscene these days!. I'm also a IRC freak,
I'm on the net each day/night..
keld: Please give us some more personal info..
Cdr: I'm 20 years old(propably 21 when this is released!), currently
unemployed, so I'm looking for a job. I'm one part of the famous Kotta
twins on the scene aka Crusader&Candyman :)
keld:Can you tell us about your scene carrier from the start to this
nice year 1996 ?...
Cdr:Started swapping in the early summer 1993, joined a HANGOVER as my
first ever demo group the same summer. On the winter same year I left
Hangover and joined DEPTH. In early 1994 I made my first attempt on
doing ascii's, I was terrible at that time, but hey that's history now :)
on summer 1995 I got offered to join EPSILON DESIGN which is a pure
asciigroup and ofcourse I accepted it, so now I was a doublemember in
DEPTH and EPSILON DESIGN...
It was me + D-Coy who in the winter of 1994/95 started thinking of
leaving Depth and start a new crew, and so we did.
We formed GIANTS in early 1995. On the autumn 1995 I joined the
army and took more or less a break from the scene for about 8 months
and rejoined the scene in may 1996, in february 1996 I was offered to
join MO'SOUL and I accepted it since it was the group where I got my
best friend MARK RYDER + that there was only very talented ascii
artists there, so I left e^d and joined mo'soul instead..
Also I was offered to join SESSION in the spring of 1996 so I joined
them as they were more active than giants was at that time.
keld: The army, was that hard time?, or was it fun ?..
Cdr: The armytime was for me a pure hell, but I can't say I regret beeing
there! I was quite lucky, since I made my military service together
with my brother, so we both ended up beeing in the same company, so we
both got more or less the same captains etc..
Me and my brother still do talk of the good memories from the
army, eventhought when you ARE in the army you HATE IT, but now when
you've finished the military service, you just think back and laught at
it all :D
keld: Okey.. :) Apart the scene, do you have other hobbies ?..
Cdr: I've been bodybuilding/weightlifting since 3 years back, and I'm still
doing it, eventhough not that much as i used to! Ofcourse I'm intrested
in computers othervise I wouldnt be on the scene, lately internet has
got my attention, i really enjoy beeing on the net! For those people
who aren't on the net, i just have to say come here and see what its all
about, you dont know what youre missing! Ofcourse I also enjoy going
to parties and booze and all that like all other human beings..
keld: So you will not swap like you do before ?..And make ascii ?
Cdr: SWAP: When it comes to swapping, I have come to a point where I think
that it's not that fun anymore, mainly since I dont have time for it
anymore + that I do already see many of my contacts on IRC and also
have gotten alot of new friends on the IRC, also these days most
demoreleases get spread on internet and on the boards, so I dont feel
like that swapping is that needed anymore!!!
Every guy with a modem can leech all demoreleases from any local board,
so sending it by mail seems unessesary, especially these days when most
swappers own a modem..
I'm still swapping, but now i only swap with my REAL friends on the
scene and the module and gfx contacts that i have! So people with ALOT
of mods or gfx can feel free to write to me!.
ASCII: I will continue doing ascii's, ascii's is what keeps me going
on this scene, I enjoy doing asciis alot mainly since the *GOOD*
reponce I've got from doing them.. I'm now a member in MO'SOUL which
belongs to the scenes top 3 ascii groups so I don't see no reason for
stopping it!
keld: So will be more at the ModemScene these days ?..
Cdr: Well.. I'm not trading THAT much on the boards, I'm mainly hanging
there since i do ascii, but sure i do trade just for fun, not that i
want to be the best or anything.. I'm just helping out some friends of
mine whos running boards.. Also on the modemscene i do have alot of
friends, so for all those people who say that here is no friendship,
I have to say that its not true at all, atleast my experience of the
modemscene has been positive so far!. I prefer beeing on the IRC.
keld: What was the motivation to start doing ascii ?
Cdr: Well.. I remember one day when candyman was sitting and
doing ascii and i remember laughting at him and telling him that it
looked like crap and then he says that i should try it myself and see
that it aint that easy to do it! So one day I loaded my CED and
started doing my first ever ascii, it looked like crap, but I
remember i got hooked of it right away! I still remember the firsts
asciicollections i ever saw, it was collys from DANZIG/ARCLITE,
MAMMOTH/EPSILON DESIGN those were the absolute first ones i saw and
i was totally impressed of their styles(and still love them!), so i
thought I'll release a colly myself and so i released a my first ever
collection in the summer of 1994..
keld: Hehheh.. okey so now i know the hole ascii story.. :) Well do you
have a girlfriend ?
Cdr: I don't have any girlie right now, but I'm currently fooling around
with MIA a 23year old girlie! We are not a couple or anything yet,
but maybe soon :D
keld: I have heard that you are not so mutch for demoparties why ?..
Cdr: Yes, i have never attended to a demoparty, not that i never wanted,
but it has always been something else that has come in the way or it
has just been that i havent got enough money to travel ie to DK or so..
The only "scene happening" that ive been on was a Giants meeting in
Örebro, but thats also it..
keld: And this year you will come to tp6 ?...
Cdr: No, I will not come there! Mainly, since the past year my intrest in
the demoscene has decreased so I'm not really intrested in putting alot
of money on travelling do DK! But ill be on IRC at #theparty so maybe
ill get some live party reports from there :D
keld: Hahah..Will Session release something now at tp6 ....
Cdr: Session is working on a Demo and a Intro for TP6, they will be
finished right at the party place and will ofcourse be released there
if everything goes as planned!.
keld: What kind of Music do you like ?.. i have heard that you was at the
Kiss concert and how was that ?..
Cdr: Yes, lately i have restarted listening to good old heavy metal groups
like KISS, ozzy osbourne,accept,iron maiden,dio,metallica a.s.o.. and
yes i was on a kiss concert on 6:th december it was really a experience
to see them play live, i mean i listened to kiss when i was a kid and
now 10 years later i see them play live! really a mighty feeling to
be there and see the whole show! It also was my first concert i ever
been on, so to start with Kiss is just perfect! :)
But I'm not just into heavy metal stuff, i do also listen to oasis,bad
religion,house of pain.dr.dre.red hot chili peppers a.s.o.. i do also
listen to some rave/techno music, i listen to most kinda music..
keld: Please can you tell me the five best ascii artist at the SCENE now ?
Cdr: Ah a VERY hard question, since all artists have their unique style!
I have about 20 guys who i think are really great artists, but if i
should mention five it would be: 1)Exocet/Arclite 2)Stylez/Contra
3)Mogue/Arclite 4)Mark ryder/Mo'soul 5)H2o/Contra.
Keld: And the best demo you have seen ever ?..
Cdr: Would be Love/Vd or Arte/Sanity, or Nexus7/Andromeda..
all of them are good..

Keld: Okey Modem, please introduce your self to the night train readers.
Modm: I'm 17 years old. My real name is Paolo D'Urso i live in Italy,
and I'm still studying. I got my first Amiga in 1992, but I coded
on my friend's since 1991 :). I joined in the scene in the 1994,
before I coded commercial games for a little italian softwarehouse.
I joined in a small group founded by my friend, we were really lamers
in 1995 i founded X-ZoNe and some people joined us :). So we got
some famous italian sceners and we released our first intro under XZN
label, the intro for ShowTime 3, coded in only 1 hour.Since another
coder 1 hour before the deadline phoned me and told me"Fuck, I joined
BSD and I will don't release the intro for ST3", so i loaded asmone
and I coded that faastintro :). Then we released some little intros
on Aminet, and we released our most important intro, "Energie" at
Saturne 4, where it ranked #7 also this intro was a fastintro,
because I coded it in only 6 days! :). Now we are about to smash
also to TP6, we will release another intro and a musicdisk from Fby.
Keld: What are you studying in school ?
Modm: I study old languages.. old Greeck..latin boring I prefer to study
how to code fast c2p :D
Keld: Hmm.. how is the SCENE situation in italy now 1996 ?
Modm The Scene is pratically dead again, last year some groups borned
MegaHead,Vajrayana,X-ZoNe :),Degeneration and BSD.. But now, at the
end of 1996, there are only 2 groups active... X-ZoNe and RamJam...
but RamJam will moved to peecee only... so...
Keld: That was not funny to hear.. :( But X-Zone will be the new great
demo group in Italy then ?
Modm: Not the great!. The ONLY!...
Anyway we are not only italian.. We have Spanish and Swedish sections
of XZN, we are about 30 people...All italian active members are in
XZn now... Apart some RJ guys ofcourse.
keld: Have some other hobbies apart the Scenecoding ??? Soccer, girls,
beachvolleyball ?
Modm: Yes!, I like a lot to swim to go in my motorbike and to stay with my
girlfriend... but she left me one week ago. :( So i have more time
to code now! :D no.. I still love her... Her name is MariaStella
but we will don't pass toghether the christmas. She's away from my
city...

Modm: I did it, but there's another problem. Her mother is my science
teacher! so I can't go to her home and, under her window, tell that

Modm: Yes, there's one in the summer. Called "The Italian Gahering" on
July organized by MetalDesigner of Nah Kolor that's also my brother!:)
We released an intro there... :) This year (first edition) there were
about 300 people from Amiga-Pc scene from all Italy. And all the
groups I wrote up but now. The italian scene is pratically dead :(
as i said... X-ZoNe and RJ. The PeeCee scene has a lot of groups
DeathStar, SoftOne, Spinning Kids, Glamour etc.. But the PC scene
suxx =D.
keld: Modem, but don`t buy a pc!...
Modm: Never!,I LOVE Amiga!, Amiga forever! I don't like only the Scene,
but i like the AMIGA! I code demos for the Scene, and games for the
software houses! Ah... now I'm without work! If a software house
needs a coder, I'm here! ;D
keld: And when will you join the good team like Sensible Software or Team17 ?
Modm: Ehe, I hope to join soon Team17... not Sensible Software since they
moved to peecee (bleargh) PeeCee suxx :D

Modm: Ehe it's true... I'm italian but I dislike pasta... eheh... I eat
only meat and pizza ..ahhh I adore pizza :)

Modm: Not so much. I played for years in a little team. But now I hate
soccer. I prefer 100 times to swim :) I go swimming once a day.

Modm: Ofcourse!, 1) EFT/Impulse for his demo Muscles, 2) Executor/RJ
really an excellent coder. He's younger than me and he coded
"ItCan'tBeDone" when he was 16. 3) Azure/ATW for... for... for all :)
4) Spin/Abyss for his fakes... I like his prods since his intro
"Shocked/Shoot" 5) Randy/RJ for being one of the first AGA coders
(the second in all the WORLD!!!) the first was Rhino/Team Hoi :)
keld: Okey... :) I see that Coders is your division...:D ..But The best
demo ever is?
Modm: The best... hmm... I will tell you 2 demos :) He first is Human
Target/Melon Dezign, when i saw it... i was a lamer... i reloaded
that demo hundred of times... I'd want to code those GameBoy filled
vector... ehehe and that design... and the music all was perfect
the secodn demo i like REALLY is Massive Killing Capacity from RJ
coded by my friend Randy i saw his code and the demo progressing
he's really an excellent coder and a good teacher! He learned to me a
lot of tecniques! ;) and his demo (the last for Amiga) is one of the
best demo EVER! for the design and for the music and for his
innovative routines. Never seen the IFS fractal morphing+blur a great
idea :)

Sped: Yepp!, My real name is Morten and I'm 17 years old and I live in
a city called Bergen in Norway. Nowdays I go second year at the
gymnasium or what to call it :D
Keld: Tell us all about your Scene Career, until now December 1996 ?
Sped: I bought my Amiga in 90 or 91, But my scene carrier started in 93
when I got my first diskmags and demos from a neighbour who just
moved in here at that time, through him I also got to know some
other sceners. So I got quite interested in it. I also started
to contact people for demo swapping So you could say my swapping
carrier started in summer 93 when I got my first contacts. And in
94 I joined my first group. It was a local group with people like
Jerry/Rebels, Numen/Honey, Junkhead/Iris, Ambient/Rebels, but at
that time we were all quite unfamous and 'lame' someone would
perhaps call it .
Sped: The group was called Far Side, maybe some have
heard about it even we didn't manage to release our planned music-
disk. In 1995 I left for Neo were I stayed for nearly one year,
before the group died and we all formed Giants norway. The other Far
Side members left for X and such a groups, and later Rebels. When I
still was in Giants, the organizer of X asked me to join X instead,
and so I did. X had at that time quite talented members, but some
later left for REbels. My ascii carrier also got a kick at that time
when I started doing ascii collections, first in Sos and then Style
which I'm still a member of. And now in october 96 I think it was, I
teamed up with the very promising crew Sunshine Productions. Notify
that I also have been in groups like Finesse, Euphoria etch for
quite short time.
Keld: What was the motivation for you to begin to make ascii ?
Sped: Not sure! I remember I did my first ascii's in 93 but until 96
I only did ascii for my friends and swap mates, local boards etc.
In 96 I got the motivation to finish my first ascii collection which
I had planned to do for months! The first years before 96 i didn't

Sped: Not much! I go to school and when I comes home I sit in front of my
computer the whole day :D. Well, ofcoz I sometimes do other things
than sitting in front of my computer. Like smoking some weed with
friends (Hi Strife).uhh. Lets just forget about the last sentence

in Norway.. ?... Some good groups left ?.
Sped: Yeah, quite few of them left in Norway. It have been silent for some
time here in norway now after Andromeda and Spaceballs ruled back
with their great demos. But this year i have seen some positive
things happening. At the Kinder Garden party some group managed to
release quite ok prods, maybe they can't compete with the best around,
but anyway nice to see someone producing quite ok things. Better than
anything released in norway for long time. So the future looks better
nowdays, even it will never get as good as in the past again i think
keld: So Norway is going to the top ?
Sped: Hehe.. Lets hope so..
keld: Which Scene country do you think is best now ?
Sped: Sweden is best on the demo front!, But also countries like Germany,
Finland, France, Danmark also rocks :D Poland was a bit better
earlier still they seems to have some good coders there but their
problem is the design on the demos.
keld: And the swapping country is that Poland ?
Sped: For sure....Poland is like rest of the europa was for some years
ago. Dominated by lots of swappers.. Modem haven't had its
breakthrough there yet. It's kinda new scene there.. On the modem
front its also like in Europe some years back they still call for
free in poland.
keld: What do you think about Elite Traders ? Do they know what they
trade or is the creds the only important thing ?
Sped: For most I think it is the credz, for the BIG elite traders it's
only the credz which counts. They don't have time for checking all
the stuff. But you ofcoz there is traders who only spread quality,
and no aminet. (ME :D)
keld: Do you think that Swapper scene will die? Is Modem & internet
stronger then friendship ?
Sped: There will always be someone who will swap It goes up and down.
Take norway for an example, lately there is more swappers in Norway
than in 95. But it will never be the same as for some years back
Like in 93 when i started, it was much more swappers around in europa.
And all the big groups had their swappers, which they dont have now.
keld: Ok.. Hmm who is the best Swapper now in 1996 do you think ?
Sped: Not sure, I don't have the view that there is one good swapper who
is better than the others.
keld: Hmm, is that the same with ascii artists ?
Sped: No, Thats something different..
keld: Then please mention the 5 best ascii artists...
Sped: My favourites are Mogue/Arclite, H2O/Contra, Desoto/Mo'Soul,
Desert/Dezign and Mark Ryder/Mo'Soul :Ð. There is alot more good
artists :D. But these are the absolute best in my view :D

Keld: Hi Kaneda!..okey Please introduce yourself so the readers know
who you are ?..
Kada: Ok... I'm Kaneda, coder and organiser of Grasshopper D. I've been
active in the scene for 3 years now, and interested in it for 5
years. I'm 19 years old and I own a horse.
Keld: Where are you living? Your name ? Pets ? Girlfriend ?
Kada: Oh.. I'm from Scotland, my real name is Ricky, I've mentioned my
horse already, and I'm totally single :D
Keld: Some other hobbies apart the scene ?
Kada: Well, to be quite honest not really. Spare time = Scene time for me.
I'm interested in astronomy and formula one, but by far the scene is
my main time-waster :)
Keld: The scene is not big in Scotland ?...
Kada: The scene is virtually non-existant in Scotland! less than 10 active
people. at least, as far as I'm aware. Probably Jobbo/ex-Spaceballs
is our biggest name.
Keld: What was the motivation for you to begin code ? And how did you start ?
Kada: When I started to learn assembler it was around autumn 1993, and at
that time they were many influential demos being released.My motivation
were Melon and Sanity demos! I wanted to create something with that
magic spark!
Keld: Yes, how did you start on the scene ?
Kada: Well, I started with a small local group here in my hometown of
Glasgow. Like most start-up groups, we were VERY lame and VERY
inexperienced.. Well anyway, after some time in this group I decided
to kill it and start a new, REAL scene group..
Keld: So you started GHD ?
Kada: Yes. That was the start of GHD. We started with a few local people,
advertised a little in some magazine, and began to get some good
members.
Keld: What do you think about Glasgow Rangers (the soccer team) ?
Kada: Pah! :D I'm not a soccer fan.
Keld: Okey.. For who long time will you stay in the scene ? Is Ghd the
last group you are a member of ?
Kada: I'll stay in the scene until I have no motivation left to carry on...
and GHD will probably be here till the end. We're getting stronger
all the time, we'll be here for some time yet :D
Keld: Hmm do you think the swapper is important for the Amiga scene ?
Kada: Mailtrading? I think it has been the most important thing in the
scene of the past. I think that the real scene feeling lies in the old
days of mailtrading, when everything seemed more underground. These
days though, most people have internet access - they can meet and talk
to their contacts REAL TIME while still trading the latest so, for the
scene of today, I think swappers are less and less important..
quite a sad fact.
Keld: That`s good..When you're at demo parties, what kind of food do you eat?
Kada: Heh, well I've only been to one party, the Digital Symposium in England
in 1995, and I think the only thing I ate was a burger that L8-X/GHD
bought. It was a short party :)
Keld: :) But will you come to the party 6 in Denmark ?...
Kada: No, I need to save my money to safeguard against any 'nasty' phonebills
arriving again. I'd like to be there though, I hope we'll see some
inspiration for the amiga coming from that party.
When will you ask me about the GHD Horse? :D
Keld: Wait!...Ok now i ask you about the GHD Horse ?..
Kada: I thought you'd never ask... :D..Well on the 10th January 1996 I was
awoken at 5:00am by a knocking at my door... I went to investigate
who it was, opened my door, and found a horse standing there.
He introduced himself and claimed to be a guarding horse, sent from
heaven to guide GHD in the amigascene world... Lots of people on the
scene just think this is bullshit... but I can tell you for once and
for all that it is the truth. You can ask any member of GHD - he will
confim that the GHD is indeed a real live horse, and a very wise and
talented member of our crew
Keld: I don`t belive you.. :D ... What will be Ghd next production ?
Kada: Grrr! may the horse be with you :D Our next release will probably be
Hop Shop 3, which features a guest-hopper doing the music, and will
be distributed with a little production called Magical Box. Also we
are planning a demo, and some more interesting 'little productions'.
Keld: That`s nice.. so 97 will be a release year for ghd ?...
Kada: YES! We intend to make it so! In 1996 we have released some nice
stuff, but for sure 1997 will be the true proof of ourselves
