welcome to this invitation intro!!! actually, it is a smaller version of a bigger invitation demo, which we will release shortly after this intro pack... in the real demo, this screen will just be one of several, and all the miniatur routines in the small window below, will get separate screens... well, this intro is totally interactive. just move the mouse around and click to obtain the different functions. but remember... you can't get this text from the menu so if it is the first time you read this, stay a while before you start clicking in the scrollselector menu... to get out of this intro, press the right button. one short clue... if you click on the 'dragbar' of the fractalmenu, you will see a sequel of some good pieces of the mandelbrot set. we would call it a 'mandelslide'... well, as you have probably guessed, the members of deathdefiers will organize a hacker conference (or a party)! the party place will be a school in karlshamn, south of sweden. read more about that in the three top scrolls. we hope that as many people as possible will come. if you have got a commodore 64/128, i'm sorry to say, that we haven't made an invitation demo on it! we just don't have any good c-64 coders, of course i could make a scroll and a logo, but it just isn't worth the effort... and finally to the atari st-owners! go to hell (or any other inconvenient place)... we don't want you to come and of course we haven't made any invitation! of course, i could make some scroller on your kludgy computor just to make sure that you stay away from our party, but the last time i coded on an atari, it just became too much!!! may all atarists suffer in hell, for ever!!! well, bye for now
some information... the place is vagga-school in karlshamn and the party will be between saturday 11th and monday 13th of april, 1992. on the saturday, we'll start the party at 16.00 hours and it ends on monday at 18.00 so that's 50 hours of total insanity! well, let's go for some more info... 1. entrance: for invited - 70 skr for uninvited - 100 skr for lamers - 150 skr for girls - zip (you get in free - this is to encourage female activity on computers) 2. special features: if you have got a digitizing equipment, you can get in free of charge if you let us use it during the party (this is only for the first person with digitizer who writes to us) if you are a girl who gets lucky, you can bring one friend in for free... 3. cafeteria: there will be a 24-hour cafeteria open. we will sell buns (kanelbullar), cola, coffee, disks and much more... 4. we will offer you car services to and from the train station when you arrive and when you are leaving. that is of course free of charge! 5. when you arrive, you will get a map of karlshamn with all the most important places marked. free of charge! if you are driving, you will of course get this map before you get here, just state that you will drive in your letter. 6. parkings: we hold a parking place near the party location. this is free of charge... 7. train schedules: if you want to, we can find out what route and time is the best for you. just state that you are going by train in your letter. 8. to get an invitation: send us a good black/white picture of yourself (normal passportsize), your name (real name) and adress, your name and your group's name. also send a stamped, self-adressed envelope. also include in your letter... age, computer and extra equipment! if you are several persons in one group, please send all of your letters in one envelope, but still one letter per person. when you get your invitation, you will also get a personalized card, which you must always carry with you at the party! if you come without that card, you will be forced to pay the uninvited fee and you will get a faceless card! 9. computers: the only allowed computers are... amiga commodore 64/128 ibm-compatibles (286 or better) and that's all!!! spectrum, vic 20, atari st, abc 80, normal pc's (8086/8088), msx or other kludges aren't allowed!!!
basic rules for the party: 1. no boozing - if you get drunk at the party-place, we will confiscate the alcoholics on the spot!!! the same goes for cigarettes (allowed outdoors) or drugs! 2. no damaging of the partyplace - if we notice any damage made by you, we will force you to pay for it on the spot. if you are not able to do so, we will report the hole thing to the police! 3. no pirate copying - if you copy a game or any other products illegally, we will report your actions to the police. if you prefer not to expand your crime record, you can of course bribe us with 100 skr per copy in cash or disks! 4. no stealing - if you steal anything from anybody (lamers aren't anybody), you will be reported to the police. if you don't want that to happen, just give the stolen things back and pay us 100 skr in cash or disks (bribing is it)!!! 5. no modem usage - modems will be confiscated until the end of the party! and now, a blacklist of groups/persons (i.e. people, who don't get in... s.h.i.t. anal intruders aurora mr.qs shadow this blacklist will expand further on... we will give you our notice if you get blacklisted...
some info/rules for the competitions... there will be four competitions, demo, graphics and music... wait, that's only three... well, the fourth one is a real-time music compo with strict rules!!! you who compete, will get one disk with a protracker and a certain amount of samples... on the disk, there is only 128 kb free memory. you will get three hours to make a module with this and to save it on the disk!!! a big thanx to amadeus of chaotic (sysop on fast link) for this great idea... in all of the competitions, there are two combining rules 1. no ripping - if you have ripped your contribution, you will be disqualified. 2. no prereleases - if you contribute with something that you have already released, you will also get disqualified. for the demo competition, there are the following rules: 1. you don't have to make your intro/demo executable from cli... you can make a trackmo if you want to... 2. the contribution must be executable and ready before you leave it to us. 3. you must finish your work at the party. for the music competition, there are also some rules... 1. make the song a module executable from cli. 2. of course, it must be packed/crunched before contributing. 3. if you use the same music in the music-compo as in the demo-compo, you will have to choose wich contribution is to be disqualified. and the rules for the graphics compo... 1. you have to save your picture as an iff-file. you can use 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 or 4096 colours, so no picswith 256 or 16.8 miljon colours!!! 2. no digitizing - digitized pics will be disqualified! well, that's about it for the compo rulez. hey, i almost forgot the prices... well, i didn't forget them, cause they are all secret!!!

piip... you can't stop squeezing the rat buttons can you. well, actually i'm glad you pushed it. now i can write some shit in this scroller... i have been asked to write a longer scrolltext. but what the hell is there to write about ? well, we have just finished the lemmings below the fractal (or logo,or text). i did the lemmings, and mimos coded the movement. what do you think of the right lemming. i think that i managed quite well to make a lemming that's a little bit funny. as you may understand i am a graphician (i hope so anyway) , i also made the logo and the snuffle (nice isn't he). snuffle as we call him, is our group's mascot. he is originally taken from a spirou comic book. the only thing about him that's bad is that he stinks... quite much really... enough talking about snuffle, let's go on with something else. i'm not the only graphician in our group... stinger is our other graphician, but we all make grafix now and then. so, you wanted to know what we are up to... well, here it is: we are right now coding on a demo called sugarfree excrements it will be quite good with a lot of new codings and some of my (mimos) best music... we are also about to release a game, called riedel's revenge it will probably be ready at the party. so you can buy it there. it is a two-disk game and it will cost 40 skr. it is a bleed-type game with graphics and text. if you read all of the text in the first intro of this disk, you will get a background story of the game... and remember: a game worth playing is a game worth buying (i hate those words)...
