| Junior's Great Adventure |

| A game by Diego Vivo (AMIGAMERS) created under Backbone |
| |
| The atmosphere of the game evokes the silent films of the 1920s, |
| the music is inspired by these classic soundtracks. |
| |
| The story of young Junior begins in the aftermath of the Great |
| Depression of 1929. During the financial crisis, many families |
| went bankrupt, while unscrupulous speculators made their fortunes, |
| enriching themselves by charging abusive interest rates on loans |
| or paying poverty wages to workers. |
| |
| At the time, child labor was commonplace, and in an attempt to |
| revive the family economy, any help was welcome. |
| This is how the young Junior had to leave school to work in |
| a factory, which belonged to a banker. |
| |
| One day, Junior discovers a real estate plan drawn up by the |
| evil banker, which aims to ruin the most disadvantaged |
| neighborhoods, in order to take their houses and then speculate |
| with them. Junior attempted to flee the factory, but was |
| discovered by the banker's foremen, who locked him in a deep |
| cellar. Fortunately, he manages to escape through a |
| ventilation duct. |
| |
| On the way to freedom, Junior will try to collect as much |
| money as possible, to help his family pay their debts, while |
| trying to avoid all kinds of enemies and traps. |
| |
| |
| |
| Levels |
| ------ |
| |
| Junior's Great Adventure includes a total of 10 levels. |
| Each of them requires specific circumstances to overcome. |
| In some levels it will be enough to find the exit, |
| but in others you will be asked to find a number of specific |
| objects, such as coins. In almost every level there are hidden |
| places and even shortcuts. In these places you can find extra |
| treasures, or even extra lives. Pay attention and explore. |
| |
| |
| |
| Lives |
| ----- |
| |
| You start the game with a total of 3 lives. |
| You will lose a life if you come into contact |
| with a trap or an enemy. The remaining lives |
| (not counting the current life) |
| are represented at the bottom of the screen |
| by a heart shape. You can accumulate as many |
| lives as you want, but a maximum of four |
| additional lives will be reprsented on the bottom bar. |
| |
| |
| |
| Pitfalls |
| -------- |
| |
| Watch out for traps. They are everywhere. |
| Some you won't see until it's too late. |
| |
| Throwers: This trap throws a poison dart from |
| time to time. They usually go unnoticed, |
| hidden in the walls. |
| |
| Spiked Blocks: No one knows what mechanisms drive them. |
| They move along fixed paths. They are deadly, but easy to avoid. |
| |
| Pious: sharp as sabers. You'll find them right where you |
| don't want them to be. |
| |
| |
| |
| Enemies |
| ------- |
| |
| Throughout the game, you will encounter |
| increasingly difficult enemies. |
| Some can be defeated by jumping on them, but others cannot. |
| |
| Rats: Nasty and slimy. They will bite you if you touch them. |
| |
| Supervisors: They observe the children who work tirelessly |
| and prevent escapes. If you jump on them, you'll knock them out. |
| |
| Spiders: gigantic and nasty. They move quickly on floors |
| and ceilings. They can throw cobwebs. |
| |
| Ghosts: The lost souls of children who had the misfortune |
| to escape. They fly everywhere and can go through walls |
| and ceilings. Obviously, they can't kill themselves yet. |
| |
| Leeches: they inhabit the lower levels. It's easy |
| to crush them by dropping them on top of them. |
| Due to their size, they are sometimes difficult to see. |
| |
| The banker: You will find him near the exit. |
| He will pursue you relentlessly. Don't let him catch you. |
| |
| |
| |
| Controls |
| -------- |
| |
| Junior can be controlled by Joystick, which must be inserted |
| into port 2 of your Amiga. You can view a list of your |
| character's movement options in the "Controls" option in |
| the main menu. |
| |
| Move the character left and right by pressing the joystick |
| in those directions. |
| |
| You can jump up or diagonally, controlling the movement |
| in the air by pressing the top, or its left and right diagonals. |
| |
| Junior can also crouch by pressing down and crawl using the |
| two lower diagonals. |
| |
| He can also go up and down stairs by pressing up |
| and down in front of them. |
| |
| Finally, Junior can use the doors or activate the switches |
| by pressing the fire button. |
