: never ;) Anyways, this is issue #6 and it'll be the last MGSCI :
: issue too - with all the ngp/ngpc stuff comming out these days,I .
. think the groups should get their credits for releasing those
games too. So if you have any suggestions on how the ngp/ngpc
point system should look like, feel free to drop me a line, else
I'll work out one by myself..hehehe :).
POST NOTE: I know it's really fucking late, too late, for mgsci but i decided
to release this thing for two reasons. (A) Despite the fact
that the new month is aproaching many dudes still requested it.
And (B) to show off my respect to the great commenters we had
this month - cheers mates ;). Sorry but this all wasn't my fault,
sometimes life's a bitch and you can't change it :(
amptor: Even though there were a lot of releases this month, there weren't
very many good games (well maybe I forgot how some of the Japanese
titles were). Hopefully better months are to come. At least
some major titles came out this month.

harlekin: Acey strikes again with a new sachen game, but this time it's for
gbc ! Megaman fans should check this out, it's a nice clone of
those old GB-Only Megaman games...
amptor: This is an interesting release. As far as I can see, it's probably an
unlicensed game. The box art is interesting because it makes the
main character look like Megaman. This is an okay platformer, but if
you are looking for a good platformer I'd suggest you stick with
Rayman or Wario Land 3 for quite a while longer.
ennay: To be honest, I haven't tried out this game, so I can't comment on
it, but its great for the collectors.

harlekin: Some ppl would say that this month was far below average for CPL,
but I think we trained the stuff that was actually *worth* training
- nothing more, nothing less. Though you don't see his name in any
of the releases big respects to rotox for all his hard work during
the month...
amptor: As CPL is slowing down on their training, they manage to release another
game. I haven't tried this one, but if you like tennis you may want
to check it out.
ennay: Capital gets my greatest respects for releasing their elite trainers
with super cool trainer menus. In addition, they always release
their trainers the same day (or within a day) of the actual release.
These guys are the closest things to the 16bit era there is.
Sweed: Now were talking.. All Star Tennis 2000, prolly 1 of very few games i
actually bothered having a whirl at.. and it was pretty damn sweet..
no matter what rotox says :)

it's nice to see the GBC-Dinosaurs still alive :)
ennay: Never count Eurasia out, these guys always manage to pull in the
big title here and there. And I personally use MFM's GBXTool which
does everything I need it to.

Cross Country Racing doesn't get any points, because there was no
*real* proof that this one was released earlier than the MNC-release.
I guess the Pokemon-Editor will make all the pokemaniacs out there

harlekin: Despite whatever RKR say's (...heheheh) - no firsties from LFC this
month. Both Dogz & Catz seem to be games for all the mad GBC
collector freeks out there...i guess you'll appreciate those. Imho
GT2 has to be the release of the year..hehehe :)
amptor: Haha. Why is the April Fool's joke release listed here? Well, I didn't
get this release because I knew it was fake. Didn't they say it was
released by Nintendo? Well anyway, good joke. I saw at least ten
people who fell for it, even though it was only listed for a mear few
hours on Subport. Not much for me to say about these releases.
Tonka Raceway seems to have good gameplay, but I thought the vehicles
were too large and I ended up needing the mgd3 for something else.
ennay: Oh yeah, Gran Turismo 2 was an amazing game on the PSX, but the GBC
version definately is better. ;) Some major releases come from these
guys this month, with Azure Dream being my personal favourite from
this group. Good work!
Sweed: Lightforce were totally fast on releasing Gran Turismo 2 too everyones
suprise :)))) more virtual pet lark.. i have a real cat so i didnt
feel the urge to maintain a 2nd one, plenty more international releases
all an all a sweet month for LFC as usual, prolly same again next month

harlekin: MNC got back to buisness and released 6 out of 7 new US firsties.
With all the GBC sales going mad I really wonder why only such a
few games get released in the US. With more games MNC would've
been prolly back on No. #1 this month...
amptor: Menace picked up more major releases this month. Most noticable of
these were Rainbow 6 and Pokemon Trading Card Game. I know both
games were highly anticipated, but many people were disappointed with
Rainbow 6. Pokemon Trading Card Game seems like a real good game
for people who like Japanese style card games. Personally, I don't
have enough time to play it at the moment. This game should be a
top seller in the shops though.
ennay: Menace once again manages to pull out most of the USA titles, from
the opinions of others, its either you love these guys or you hate
them. I personally dont have any grudge against these guys, so I
guess I'll be neutral. (Yes I realize I'm contradicting myself,
but who cares) Keep up the good work boys!
Sweed: 6 new games from menace.. 2 Yankie sports rubbish, and Pokemon,
1 goodish title Rainbow 6, and then the regular crap you get on any
console, spose for the average american its a great month

stuff to look at etc and if he didn't do it then we would either not
see the stuff or have to wait forever to see it."
amptor: Well now I can see why people have complained about the charts in the
past. I remember, in the SNES days, Japanese titles used to get +01
points quite often in charts. Oh well at least it seems like many
of the Japanese games for GBC are good, opposed to how much stuff was
coming out for the SNES.
Anyways, the best games in this list are Meta Fight and Metal Gear.
The Japanese version of Metal Gear does not have an English option,
so I didn't get very far in it. Meta Fight actually is the Japanese
version of the upcoming Blaster Master. This is a great game and
I highly recommend it if you like platformers. In case you are
not familiar with this game, you basically control a tank. Inside
the tank is a person you can use for parts of the mission where the
tank is not allowed to enter. The views are side scrolling (all the
tank areas are this way as far as I've ever seen) and overhead (the
game goes into overhead view when you enter a door after exiting the
tank). This is a nice port of the original NES game.
ennay: Wow, look at all those Jap titles from the folks at Oldskool, Faz
must definately be busy this month, and despite what people think
about this group, they are releasing the stuff, and they managed
to sneak in the most amazing "Metal Gear - Ghost Babel" into this
months release.
Sweed: Well suck my dick and call me charlie.. 22 releases, Especially
1 biggie, Metal Gear solid havent tried it yet as i assume its mega
jap, Pocket pro wrestling was hard as nails i nearly
broke my GBC, the game name Monkey Puncher that instantly turned me
on.. tho i never got around to playing it, gutted that Snowboard
Champion wouldnt work....

ennay: Some Euro finals from the folks at PDX, these guys have been active
in almost every scene now. Lets see some coding action for the GBC!
