MegaDemo IV Macintosh Conversion
© 1998 Marcus Denny
Background:
This demo was originally created by Artwork, a group of German demo coders. It was designed from scratch as a 100% portable demo, written in ANSI-C. Thus, it was quite a simple matter to port it to the Mac.
Various ports of this demo have been available for various platforms, but there was a glaring lack of a Mac Port. However, this is no longer the case. To my knowledge, there is at least one other Mac port of this demo available. Cheers Anton!
Full credit must go to Artwork for the cross-platform coding - I had a working version of the demo up and running within an hour. Impressive.
The three different apps demonstrate three methods of doubling pixels from PC chunky rez to Mac 640x480. Let me know which one you think looks better.
System Requirements:
You will require at least a Power Macintosh capable of displaying thousands of colours at 640x480. Not really that hard is it?
In terms of software, you should have DrawSprocket installed on your computer. If you don't have it, get it! It is freely available from Apple.
If you want to choose your own music, just change the Music.S3M file.
Feedback:
Any and all comments/criticism would be gladly accepted! I can't claim to be a demo ninja, but I'm learning. Send comments/hatemail/money to Marcus.Denny@pcm.bosch.de.
