name: CCountDown
author: Eli-Jean R. Leyssens (pervect@topix.student.utwente.nl)
size: 1014 bytes
needs: RISC OS 3, VIDC 2 (X320 Y256 G256) (VIDC 1 version inside More dir.)
descr.: See how much time you have left to code or vote for CC#2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

To start the program just double-click the CCountDown file. You can hit
Escape any time to abort the program, except during the calculation process.

This program shows you how much time there is left to code or vote or how
long the competition has been over. This gives us three periods and each
period has a corresponding colour which is used to display the timer in:

Green : up to 4 June 2000 (inclusive), Time to Code
Cyan : from 5 June 2000 up to 15 July 2000 (inclusive), Time to Vote
Red : from 16 July 2000 onwards, Competition Expired, Vote results online

The format of the timer displayed is days:hours:minutes:seconds

Note that all the deadlines are based on UTC time and so are all the time
calculations. So, if for instance you're living in The Netherlands and it's
31 May 2000, 23:59:00 then you'll see there's still 1 hour and 1 minute left
to code and not just 1 minute.

A short story on the VIDC 1 version: "I started out CCountDown as a VIDC 1
program. Unfortunately it didn't run smooth enough on even the fastest VIDC 1
machines (ARM3). Faster machines all had a VIDC 2 so that's when I decided to
turn the final release into a VIDC 2 version and include a VIDC 1 version as
a novelty." *sigh*
