First of all, I know my English ins't quite good, but be happy I didn't write all this in French...

Hell is a graphic demo for the Macintosh. All the effects it contains are computed in real time.

As you can see it, this demo is unfinished, and it will never be finished, because I lost the whole source code in a hard drive crash some months ago. The present application has been saved because I had sent it to a friend so that he could test it on his Mac.

So please don't send me any e-mail regarding bugs, incompatibilities, problems, or containing suggestions, because there's nothing I can do about that anymore. If it works on your Mac, then be happy. (But you can tell me if you like it :)

Oh yes, as you may guess, there are known bugs and problems... Keep in mind that this is a development version. Here is a non-exhaustive list of themÊ:
- After the demo has run, it leaves the screen in 256 colors mode, with a green palette (just change the color mode or the resolution using the Monitors & Sound control panel to have the normal colors again).
- The frame rates at the end are right only if you didn't click to interrupt an effect (if you did, the value is wrong for that effect only).
- There is no speed control, and the demo was designed to run at the right speed on a PowerPC 604 @ 150 MHz. It should also run quite well on a PowerPC 601 @ 100 MHz minimum, on a PowerPC 603 @ 180 MHz minimum, and on any PowerPC 604. (It will run too fast on the faster 604 and 604e.)
- I've been told that some effects are very slow on (someÊ? allÊ?) G3 computers. Don't know why, and can't fix it.
- There is no VBL sync (some effects may flicker).
- Not all of the effects have their frame rates computed at the end.
- There's no music. I highly suggest you put your best CD before launching Hell.
- Some effects are incomplete (for exemple, the bouncing sphere at the end). Remember, this demo is like a snapshot of my work.
- Murphy says you want to see the demo now, but it won't look good Ñ or don't work at all Ñ on you computer. You will be deceived. Remember Murphy's mainly right.
- If Murphy's right, try to set the preferred memory size to a higher value.

Last thing before I leave you alone... If you can (it's much nicer), set you main screen's resolution to 640 x 480 before launching Hell.
