PC-Engine "Split-Resolution" Demo

What is it?
-----------

It's a little technical demo for the PC-Engine/Turbografx-16 system that splits
the screen up into 3 regions, and can display a different resolution in each region.

The PC-Engine can display at least 3 different horizontal resolutions: 256 pixels,
320 pixels, and 512 pixels.  With overscan, that resolution increases, but this demo
keeps the overscan values low.  The PCE can't do proper interlacing, so its vertical
resolution is 240 lines maximum.  This demo does make use of an "interlacing trick",
discovered by Charles MacDonald, to simulate a 480-line resolution.

Of course, most emulators cannot switch resolutions mid-frame, so don't expect any
emulator to display it properly.  It looks great on a real PC-Engine!

How to use it:
--------------

With the on-screen control panel, you can change the horizontal resolution of each
region, turn interlacing on or off, scroll the regions around, and set the scanline
where the latter 2 regions begin.  The top region is active all the time, but the
latter 2 regions can be switched off, so that they don't change the resolution.
Play with the resolution settings to see what I mean.

I'm sorry that the controls are not very intuitive, but that's all I could do to fit
the controls onto the standard PC-Engine buttons.

I've provided a ROM file for emulators and flash cards, as well as a CUE/ISO for
burning to a CD (for use with a PCE SCD-ROM system.)
