All demos mount disk 1 into drive 1 and disk 2 into drive 2
If more than 2 disks, the loader program which is always on disk 1 in drive 1, will advise which disk to then mount into whichever drive.
Every 6k frame in every demo will first load into memory, and then will be blitted to the screen tricking into looking like it is awesome animation...

So, essentially these demos will work with three emulators, DSEVZ200, MAME and VZEM.
It was written for, on and tested with VZEM ( http://intertek00.customer.netspace.net.au/vz200/ )
Download and run VZEM.
File -> mount disk1 and point it to the first .dsk file
File -> mount disk2 and point it to the second .dsk file
type 'DIR'
...and run what appears to be the MAIN or MENU or FIRST program to run.
From there, it *should* give instructions on when to mount the third, fourth, fifth etc disk.
Lot of work, and perhaps it is simply just easier searching for these demos on Youtube. They are all on there somewhere under 'VZ200' or 'VZ300'.

This file makes no sense. Was written in April 2014.
It is now Dec 2016, and I can't make heads nor tails of it.
Was notes for myself two years ago.
Read it if i=you like, and then simply delete it.

----------------

1. Find demo / video / youtube / animated GIF file.
2. pull it down or record it and save it as AVI.
3. Use www.online-converter.com to upload and save it back as multiple .BMP files
(ie, 30 seconds will take 5 mins to process and pull down ~300 meg of 300 .BMP files
all depending on DPI, Frame rate, size etc)
4. Scroll thru and remove all double-ups / triple-ups / quadruple-ups /etc-ups.
Leaving individual unique frames. eg: 300 frames down to 120.
5. Rename them all nicely, ie, 001 to 120.
6. Use Paint Shop pro to resize them to 256x192. Shift-S.
7. Use Paint Shop pro to reduce colour to 16 colour. Ctrl-Shift 2. [ Nearest 16 windows-Colour ]
8. Use Paint Shop pro to reduce colour to 2 bit. Ctrl-Shift-1. [ Error with weighted distribution ]
9. save each. Should be 6202 or so bytes each file.
10. Use VZEM "import BMP" function to load each in.
11. BSAVE "FR01",C000,D800
12. Can get 12x BMP files per .DSK image.
13. ...or use existing program to semi-auto load files in.
If can find program ---> RUN499 will do semi-auto load in.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Find a nice animated GIF file.

2. Grab each frame and reduce it to 256x192 in a black and white (mono) colour.

3. Import each frame on to a VZ disk image through the likes of VZEM emulator 'Load Bitmap'
This will load the (now 6k .BMP file) to 0xC000.
   BSAVE"FRAME01",C000,D800

...and keep doing this for each frame.
...you will only get 12 frames (12 x 6k) to a single floppy disk image.
...you will need a "Please insert disk 2" into your import program.

4. Rip off any of the existing loader displaying programs and change accordingly.

5. All credits go to Guy "Intertek" Thomason for the emulator and this animation concept on the VZ.

I use Paint Shop Pro in order to get a nice 256 .GIF --> 2 colour .BMP
There are a multitude of methods of getting the correct pixels to align correct and make a GIF look good.
In Paint Shop I use a combination of either, or both of, ctrl+shift+2 and ctrl+shift+1
ie, Changing the GIF file firstly to a 16 colour image and then to a 2 colour, or depending on the layout of the original colour palette in the GIF, go straight from the 256 colour gif to a 2 colour.
And experiment with either the weighted and un-weighted error diffusion and weighted/unweighted closest colour in both the 16 colour and 2 colour options. Some combinations will work better on some GIFs than others combinations. All dependant on the original colour palette of the GIF.

Physical VZ200 / VZ300 computers (also known as V-Tech/Sanyo "Laser 210" and "Laser 310" sometimes come up available to purchase on eBay every now and then. (Ebay for Australia, USA, Finland, Europe --- and the likes of 'TradeMe.co.nz' in New Zealand)

How to run:
(VZ Emulation program on DOS/Windows/Linux such as VZEM, DSVZ2000, JVZ200, JAVA VZ, MAME)
Typically : File --> Open --> "*.vz"
TYpe RUN <CR> for BASIC programs
Typically most compiled/assembled 'binary' programs should just automatically execute.

For real hardware, will require conversion via utility vz2wav.exe, to convert the '.vz' to a '.wav' (typical .PCM wave file)
Type 'CRUN' on the physical VZ/Laser computer, and play the WAV from the PC through a stereo lead to the "ear" jack on the VZ/Laser.
The file will automatically execute, be it a BASIC or 'binary' program.
