Welcome to SverigeToppen... A production made by The Black Lotus and Triad. It was meant that this code should been used in the last issue but something was fucked up (Hint: NOT by any TBL member). Some of the graphics in this production are put together in a big hurry so it isn't of the best quality. Well enough bullshit! Here comes a TBL members thoughts about autumn 1994:.... Hiyas...I thought I would tell a short story about October 1994 , the month from hell. It began rather nicely, snowing one of the first days in month, and here in Sweden snow means winter has come, and winter means you will be lucky if you wont freeze to death within 10 minz...The snow melted in a couple of days. The university here has a computer society and I am hm, well not proudly but at least a member there. They had a meeting whereas they were supposed to show Beyond The Minds Eye for the new members in it, projected at a big screen with a RGB-projector and some nice stereo sound. First out were (of course) some Amigafreaks (read TBL-members plus some others) to show what you can do with an Amiga and a few thrown-in assem instructions. Of course we found out that the cable from the Amiga 1200 to the projector was broken about 30 minutes before the show... beginning to look like the evening will end up pretty nicely... NOT. The movie... They somehow succeeded in failing to get a copy of the movie, so I wanted to give it a try. After numerous phonecalls and a fortune of student funds, not to mention hours spent on the phone I found a guy that had the movie. Meanwhile some other guys in the society had of course cleverly enough gone renting some movie downtown, Lawnmover Man...Yeah right, some of the scenes in it are from BTME. It could only end up one way. The never showed BTME. I went home a bit pissed only to find out that the cops had a search warrant, and turned all my stuff in my drawers upside down when I wasn't at home, and a small note in a corner of my desk saying "We have looked through all your stuff, call us tomorrow /The Police".Went down to the police station the next morning, only to find out that I was accused of doing two burglaries. I was not allowed to call anyone, they interrogated me for six hours without as much as giving me any food, and I was not allowed to go to the toilet, not until I said that I will do it in my pants if they wont let me go. Once I had respect for the cops, one thing is for sure, I don't have that respect anymore...They finally let me go, realizing I was innocent. The next day I woke up (3 pm) and found that my bike had gotten one flat tire. Ok, just to repair it...now, where do you find a place that would be open 3 pm in this town a saturday, so I could buy spare parts? Simple, you don't. Just to begin walking the 3 km to school and the computer labs, until monday...I love weekends. When I finally got it repaired I was happy, and everything was just great. Until a friday two weeks later, when I parked my bike as usual outside school. When I was supposed to go home 8 hours later I found the bike on the ground. It was the first time I asked myself if wheels arent supposed to be round. It looked like as if someone tried to run over it as violent as possible with an 80 ton truck in 130 km/h. Back to walking again...Isn't life just perfect sometimes? I took what was left of my bike home...There is another guy living where I live, so I could borrow his bike until I got my bike repaired. The thursday next week I was at a big party, and I got there on the bike I borrowed. After a couple of hours of meaningless drinking I was invited for an afterparty. Cool, I thought... Today I think Crash rather. I succeeded to smash the bike against some high (gatusten) in 40 km/h, and I flew a couple of meters. The bike got almost completely ruined in the front. As drunk as I was my only thought was getting to the party so I tried to get there on my once so nice borrowed bike, now just a pile of steel rubbish. Nothing special happened at the party so I went home. Next day I woke up what I thought too late, having a hell of a hangover, some blood from my nose bleeding when I fell from the bike, nothing at home to eat for breakfast and 2 broken bikes. A nice start of a friday. I walked on an empty stomach to school, by now starving for food just to find out that lessons had been cancelled. I love school. After a long time of swearing and screaming in panic and frustration I went home again, trying to get back to life from the hangover. The guy that lent me his bike got quite pissed at me and yelled all day as if I didn't have enough headache anyway. I finally got the bike repaired. Later that day in the evening I was beginning to look like a human at least. A few days later in early november I wanted to compile the latest version of gcc, as of today version 2.6.1 for sun sparc. I ran configure, everything worked just great and I even managed to make the stage1 compiler, xgcc. I compiled the second stage of it, only to get something like the following message from the computer: "ld.so: _main undefined symbol" after 2 hours of impatient waiting. I almost reached orgasm in an instant. Or rather, almost put 400 ampere through the ever so cute cpu.
