It was part of a contest held on Operation 3Dfx (http://www.op3dfx.com). For this competition I aggreed on the rules at the bottom of this document. Overview: - Name : The name of the screen-saver is 'save3dfx'. - Short Description : It is a starfield screen-saver - Long Description : It is a starfield screen-saver with motion-blur-like star-motion. - Author : Ron Bakker Soedastraat 3B 9715 NG Groningen The Netherlands email: madrigal@gmx.net - Compatibility : It is succesfully tested on the folowing Operating Systems with a Voodoo Graphics Card (Diamond Monster 3D : - Windows 95 - Windows NT 4.0. It is succesfully tested on the folowing Operating Systems with a Voodoo Rush Card (California Graphics Emotion 3D) : - Windows 95 - Known Bugs and Missing features : - Currently no preferences screen due to pressing time limit of the contest. - No optimizations in the code. - Not yet the bump-mapped comet that I had in mind for the screen-saver - Note : Full source-code is included (Windows Glide 2.3+) written with Watcom 11. To install: simply rightclick on the 'save3dfx.scr' file and select 'Install' from the popup-window. This was the first time I wrote something in Glide. I've got a lot of experiance though in programming DirectX Retained Mode, but I saw no chalenge in that. So I decided to learn Glide myself and as it turns out ... this may as well be a nice windows/3dfx syncing tutorial-application for you. The code is Freeware ... but if you make any changes to it or thought it was helpfull, let me know. Many always outwit the minority. Have fun, Ron ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// RULES of the contest ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Agreements - Contestants will have to agree with the following set of rules: - All Games Network may freely distribute the submitted entry. - 3Dfx Interactive and it's partners may freely distribute the submitted entry. - Neither All Games Network or 3Dfx Interactive and its partners have a commercial interest in distributing the entries. - 2.
