Math coprocessor is also needed. DOS4GW.EXE needed as well. Everyone should have it by now. If not, it can be found on FTP.CDROM.COM (tools or utils or somesuch dir from root). Supports SB (plain/pro), GUS (any of 'em with at least 256k RAM) and nosound. SB 1.0, 1.5 and SBPro-1 may click a bit. SB support requires EMS. Otherwise nothing is needed. Might run under win95. Might not. Don't know. Nor care. Explanations, explanations.. The competition was started 8.29.96 and TheJoker was supposed to do the invitation intro. Time passed, and TJ was practically drowned in work, so he couldn't finish the intro. So, I got on the job and built this little invitation demo out from scratch within five days (..while solving three games [rebel assault II, death rally shareware 1.1, quake shareware 1.01 while listening to Donna Lewis - try it! The 'end of level' tune is 'I love you always forever' ;)], downloading several megs of pictures off the 'net ;) and wasting even more time by reading some pretty good books [Wheel Of Time]..). So it's not *that* hard to build a demo in a hurry. :) The TMDC deadline is 11.11.96 - you still have a complete month to code. Please send us your contributions *AS SOON AS POSSIBLE* as our resources for file transfers are limited. Read the infofile for details. Oh, why is this so huge? The tune is over one meg, there's a 300k FLC (compressed) and the start graphics, too.. Only the tunnel is a FLC, all else is realtime.. The demo itself is about 800 lines of pure C code, not counting compressed filesystem, player and textmode 'basic' routines like the FLI player.. :) The fli player has been released with full source, and should be found from cdrom.com (txtfli.zip). Contribute! -- Sol Oh, and this demo doesn't break any TMDC rules, either.
