 Back in 2006 we proudly brough you this release by Antanas Jasenka.
of Lithuanian descent, reknown in the experimental music scene.

// Antanas Jasenka - composer, sound artist, performer.

 A.Jasenka explores many different areas of music from acoustic music,  
theatre and movie music, to advance experimental, conceptual art,
electronic music.
 The very first electronic pieces composed between 1992-1997 recorded
with the help of very simple equipment. Author used cut-off, tape mix
and collage techniques to create wonderful and imaginary soundscapes.
 Started from "Room Music" author successfully reaches his own style
of sound making, although it still was done with "cut-off", "mix-up"
techniques and adding digitaly self generated tones.


// POINT.EXE (2006)

 Point.exe is a work done with programme max/msp. It was interesting
for me to try to exploit the sphere and spectrum of a digitally
produced sound. A point might be interpreted as part of a circle, and
by constantly repeating, it actually draws the circle itself. The
duality in all this is that the perimeter of a circle is in fact a
straight line which is simply connected with itself. This line is
therefore fissionable into different forms of sound.
 A line might also be interpreted as time, which is moving in one  
direction and one direction only, and when it passes, it never comes
back. So in a sense to make a line into a circle is basically an
attempt to deny this fundamental truth...
 The repetition of the same rhythmical and melodic patterns is not
only common, it actually dominates in Lithuanian folk music.
 This work was an attempt to take a closer look at the old patterns
from today's perspective.
